Making the Japanese woodworking joinery, "Odome Nihon Dabo Setsugo" (Doweled miter joint). Although a dowel joint is simple, it’s difficult to drill holes vertically in the same position by hand. For chamfering, we use a rare plane that can process two surfaces at the same time.
This is one of the wooden joints for "First-class Furniture Making Master Craftsman," a national qualification in Japan.
