This is very useful, thank you so much. I've been learning Japanese in a 1-on-1 environment and we cover a lot of language, but it is always formal and follows a question/answer format meaning a lot of this language isnt included. Furthermore, textbooks don't teach this type of vocabulary because, once again, they stick to more formal conversational structures. However, I'm now in Japan for a month trying to improve my language skills in anticipation of moving here permanently in the next year or so and it's been very helpful to get additional instruction on this type of casual speech. だから本当にありがとうございます！

small fact: gomen is short for gomennasai. also, as i remember; majika can also be used as "really?" but mostly used in a negative form such as "seriously?" ikou can be used as "lets go" and ikoka can be used as "shall we go?".

Along with anime, this and Japanese subtitles in series it has helped me alot! I was able to understand what a sushi chef said at a restaurant very smoothly for some reason thank you!!!

Thank you for including kanji words in your video. A lot of videos on KZfaq don't introduce us to kanji words so it's harder for us to understand, learn and use kanji in words/sentences.

It's really helpful to know that a lot of simple phrases about asking somebody boil down to: "Good?" "Good." "Understood?" "Understood." as in Wakatta would be the same word, but a different intonation changes the meaning a lot. Thank you for the video!

Funny how most of the phrases in japanese i kind of knew most of it it prolly because i used to watch too much anime (more than thousands of anime in mal last time i checked) and played quite a lot of visual novel back then. Recently i have been learning to read common japanese phrases with kanji and this actually helps me a lot in identifying the kanji used in common informal conversation. My initial goal is to actually being able to read japanese visual novel that does not have english localisation, might take a few years but starting with something is better than nothing at all. Hopefully my determination does not died out early xD
