Jared will never know how many people he has truly helped including myself. I have major depression and anxiety a lot of my depression comes from years of neglect and not having a stable environment as a kid. I thought about suicide but never acted on it. About 2 yrs ago I had just moved away from my mom and I was so depressed cause I had to move to a new town and I didn’t know anybody and my mom was to busy getting high and whatever she didn’t seem to care about me anyways I know I’m all over the place it would take to long to explain everything but what always makes me feel better is just imagining his character Sam right there telling me everything’s going to be alright and him hugging me

Something i feel very passionate about. Depression and anxiety are so misunderstood and often dismissed as feeling a bit sorry for yourself. Believe you me no one would voluntarily choose to feel that despair and its more than a bit of sadness. It takes over your whole life, effects your health and immune system and robs you of all logical thought. People are also very scathing about suicidal thoughts or those that go through with it. Its not a cry for attention or a selfish act. It can be sheer exhaustion from the weight of the feelings or a feeling that you ate a huge burden on everyone around you or that truly no one can care for such a horrible person. Until you have felt that absolute pit of despair you have no right to even think about casting judgement. Not long after i almost killed myself my best friend in a phone conversation told me i was a nasty, horrible person when i was depressed and that it was no wonder no one wanted to be around me or call. Thats just one example of how "supportive" some people can be about it. I know depressed people can be hard work or draining but please if you have a friend or family member suffering don't give up on them. If they don't want to come out or speak on the phone text, email, facebook whatever. Even if they don't engage with you please don't give up. One of the worst things about my depression is i cut myself off from everyone but then feel desperately lonely and that no one cares. Sometimes that stubborn person who does still show they care and continues to contact you is the one thing that gives you strength to still get up and fight the next day.

You’re right Jared it’s sad and nice to share though . My dear friend ed who lived ten or more doors down from my grandma committed suicide while I was staying with my grandma and I miss him. I have depression. So Jared #thankyou

Thanks Jared. Found this via a Supernatural friend on Facebook. You are absolutely spot on. Firstly, thank you for having the courage to make your issues public. Secondly, thanks for AKF. I have battled depression twice and am stronger for it. Those who haven't don't really understand how crippling it can be, how exhausting it can be just to get out of bed. Thanks for giving struggling people a vehicle to get behind, and for your great suggestions about being open and telling people where they're at. You are correct; if you tell them, they can help and support - and it's tough to battle depression without support and counselling. Mwah! A big hug from Melbourne, Australia. I have suffered with Anxiety from the age of 18 and now at the grand age of 57.....I thought about ending my life. I didn't give up on the fact that I could beat this evil illness that lost me friends from work and friends that I made through life. Please, anyone that suffers from this illness, don't give into it! You learn to deal with it and cope in situations that you never thought you could do. I am living proof that you can come through this dreadful illness. I love you Jared! So pround you managed to hit this illness on the head!!

he's truly the best. I really love his campaign so much and the way he talks about anxiety etc. it's probably the main reason why I love him and why I look up to him in a way :))

And I know both depression and anxiety, technically I have PTSD because my friend committed suicide in front of me and obviously I love the show Supernatural and I'm very fond of Jensen and Jared and he is a very genuine person that I think could help a lot of people that don't know how to get it.

Jared honestly is my superhero

This year has been just horrifying, my depression was coming back, tricked me into a false belief I was getting back. Get back to things I did, like fitness. I suddenly found my self falling back in the pattern of depression that with alcohol at least rid me of darkness. But how false, I made everyone miserable and was not that I didn't care, I just couldn't stand the dark loneliness. Who wants a bpd, mdd type of woman. I mean all women are crazy , right??? That's all men can say. I hurt myself because I grew up without a father, my brother couldn't deal or understand my issues and most men, whether it reached a relationship would end because I hated thinking I depended on them to emotionally protect me. Some tried. I will probably end up in psych ward tomorrow because I cut myself again, at least 4-5 times in the last 2 months. Au voir, for today at least.

wow march 2015 was when my friend died, when he started the campaign, ugh since then I've been suffering with depression and anxiety
