Michael George of the Torrance Historical Society and Museum presents a biography of the founder of the city, Jared Sydney Torrance.

Jared Sidney Torrance was born in Gowanda, NY on August 3, 1852. He died in South Pasadena in his home on March 29, 1921 after a short illness (during the month of March - approximately three weeks). Cause of death was stated as pneumonia. ---Torrance Historical Society and their archives.

The house in South Pasadena caught my eye, I just had to look into the history of it. Lead me here. Also, they are setting up to do filming at the house for the next two days. Just about almost exactly 100 years since Sidney’s death.
