Joke is a “joke” because RM was accused of not being a fast rapper. But his rap is not about speed, but genius lyrics. The joke is that Joke is showing those critics that “ Sure I can rap fast and switch up the flow, but, also like you, I can make rap that doesn’t even make sense; it’s gibberish or mumble-mouthed.” He’s brilliant!

Joke is particularly a response to some haters just to show them that yes he can rap fast and better than them those who were speaking ill about him but Rm main focus is always on the motive of the lyrics, the thoughts that needs to be expressed not just rapping fast with any lyrical wordplay makes you a good rapper.. so to make them understand/ show to them , he just rap in here with using meaningless / nonsense (joke) lyrics to show them his speed and taught them that yes he can rap like this with using not lyrically maintained Wordplay as such others rappers who try to do this for show off, it was a slap to them and he said at the end of song- hit me.. means give response now.. but no one did .!!! Rm is genius..

It's no joke that's for sure. Don't forget to listen to Moonchild and Seoul - Namjoonie uses words that sound the same with different meanings... he is poetic and leaves you thinking ... using your brain!

RM was an underground rapper. He has been a rapper since he was 13 years old. he is already famous among underground rappers at the age of 15. he is even feared by other rappers because of his amazing talent. RM is very smart so the wordplay is wide. the example is in the song "ddaeng" he made 7 wordplay only from the word "ddaeng"

He raps really fast while changing up his flow and rhyme patterns every two to four bars." RM is known for his EXTENSIVE USE OF WORDPLAY and ability to rap to diverse and complex beats.

I absolutely like be that he picked such a difficult to rap on sound and just ate it up. He and Suga just chew rap verses spitting but still with playful lyricism. And Jhopes got his own style evolved from learning I see these two for 10 years.

I just want to clarify that the lyrics here aren't really "nonsense lyrics" (idk why this term gets thrown around), but Joon says that the lyrics in 'Joke' aren't as deep, or the main focus, like his usual brand of lyrics in his songs.
