Top contenders for me: Spiro Dussias: Spyro the dragon spitting his careless whisper lick; but in all honesty really great playing and very interesting note choice. Corey Smith: more conventional note choice, but very nice tone, very good ear for melodies, buttery smooth. Luke Jeansonne: really interesting note choice, almost synth like playstyle/sound refreshing voice as a guitarist. Syndrone: Nice melodies, great harmony.

Seth Gray takes the cake for me personally. A wonderfully crafted solo with boat loads of techniques and musicality. Jordan Wynn had a killer one too. Very nice playing imo. I stopped the shred thing a while ago and every one of these guys could play circles around me (Wouldn't be hard these days! LOL) but something I did notice in this video is how limited the concept of "shreddy" playing really is to a lot of modern players. The same phrasing came coming up, the same melodies, super similar parts to the point of nearly being identical, you're almost watching it be paint by numbers for a lot of these guys. Whether that's down to the influences they share or what I have no idea.
@EarlGrey-YT

Oh man... Tramaine Johnathan 4:47 killed it in my opinion. It wasn't about just shredding, but his note progression had melody and a touch of classic. I'm a huge fan of the classic. Just seemed like every note was exactly where I would have put it. I wanted it to go a certain way, and he just took it right where I wanted it to go. Plus everything was so clean, organized and on point. It was a flawless presentation. I couldn't wait to listen to the rest before commenting. If I change my mind after completing the vid, I'll change my comment. Edit: Okay, so many fantastic solos. Seems like each one had a moment that was stellar! Runners up: Landon Siebens, 8:27 for his "second half". So good. Syndrone, 15:01 for his killer melodic harmony.

His fast harmonized swept tapping is eerily smooth and almost synth-like in the smooth attacks but his fingering is right on. He's got the 7 string version of the Schecter C-1 SLS. A great guitar but mine doesn't do that! LOL. When he does the swept harmonized lines it's addictive in terms of its rhythm.

I don't ever normally write comments, but Noah Crenshaw 11:22 definitely has this one in the bag. Everyone here is incredibly talented and such excellent guitarists. But Noah just completely stood out to me and was the most unique entry in the contest. His solo was not only shred-tastic and face-melting, but his use of space and emotion was incredible. My favorite is Spiro Dussias 2:34 His playing is technically rich and still musical and catchy. He reminds me to Kiko Loureiro style. I can't fail to mention Lwandile Prusent 14:18 His solo is very interesting and different from the average.

In this, not only technique is important to everyone, but the choice of notes. So Tramaine Jonathan choice of notes is simply outrageous, his creative language will be clear even to those who do not understand the technique of performance. sorry for my English.

It’s an incredible collection of genius shredders. It was mind blowing watching the final action sequences that you just watch and repeat. Everyone was so unique, memory betrays. But it was a great start by Mr Dussias, specially careless whisper, ultimate speed and melody by Mr Oni Hassan, he made shred speed Melodie’s that were amazing, a number of guitarists were great shredders. I salute Louis. Finally, it has to be Mr Oni Hassan because of his impeccable speed and melody composition. Cause in the end how many melody blocks were magical, matters. I thank Mr Jared Dines for such initiative. Best of luck, Mr Oni.
