I watched this show back when it aired on TV. The "they towed my car" story made me sob when I was child. The idea that no one helped him and just left a confused and hurt man fend for himself gutted me. It hurt me so deep because he acted just like my mom used to when she suffered a mental break. I'm 34 now and since then I've spent my whole life asking people who even so much as have their hands full if they need help. Just a silly show and its effected my whole life. Life is so weird.

@jakerockznoodles2 жыл бұрын
The other thing is that they get around it by saying a thing happened (or at least that the writers "didn't make it up"), but presenting the ideas in a misleading way to try and convince you that it happened *because of the supernatural*. Take the first story: not unbelievable that a robbery could be foiled by faulty electrics in a building currently undergoing renovation. But they present it as though the factual part is that it was actually telekinesis that caused it, but using wording so that they aren't technically telling a total untruth.
@-desertpackrat2 жыл бұрын
It's kinda like when someone tries to argue about some scientific fact and says "they have a trustworthy source" because their beloved grandma told them this is the actual facts, and no scientist is gonna tell them their grandma is wrong, she's an angel, and every word from her lips is holy truth XD Like I guess we've gotten to the point where if you tell another human something and they believe it, it's officially "true" now. Actually I guess that's something that will never change, you'd think we'd be past that now with all our video evidence, and modern education systems, but nope..

The cemetery story is the one I've cited in the last couple of videos when people talk about how the show judges fact versus fiction. It's an urban legend, which by the standards of the show should make it a fact, but to subvert expectations they call it an urban legend and therefore fiction.
@ivenfurpaw84982 жыл бұрын
Its literally an episode of The Twilight Zone. An old western sheriff returns to a town where he sentenced a lawless criminal boss (though if i recall he might have been innocent) to death. And well hes not what he used to be. So on a cold and windy night he's dared by the other ranchers in a bar to go up to the grave of the man he had convicted and stab the grave with a knife to prove he was there. He heads up, not before downing his last shot of the evening and heads up to boot hill where he kneels before the grave, wind blowing along it, says a few words of cursing him to hell. Then plunges the dagger into the grave. He stands to leave, but is snagged one something, fearing that the legend of the convicted felon pulling down those that spite him to their deaths. The middle aged sheriff dies of a heart attack. His body is found the next morning by those that dare him... Seeing the knife in the grave...was pinning the dead man's coat to the plot of dirt. So yeah kinda funny that beyond belief pirated this little folk tail. Though honestly the original twilight zone episode did it alot better with more set dressing and better set up. Makes a lot more sense that a middle aged man who convicted someone to death would fear that he too would be dragged to hell for such a thing would die of fright the moment he was prevented from leaving.

um, actually I'm pretty sure if you're a cop investigating murder and you knew and disliked the victim you aren't supposed to stay on the case. It's called a Conflict of Interest when your dedication to the case could be affected by your personal feelings. Cops also don't investigate the murders of their friends and loved ones, because their emotional ties to the victims affect their ability to investigate objectively, so if a cop hated someone they won't be allowed on that case, in fact they'd be on the list of people of interest due to having personal ties and dislikes of the victim, and would have to be screened like all other persons of interest in the case.
