Heiftz inspired me to play the violin when I was 3 years old, and he was also my first violin show too.

Wow, how lucky you were to start that early with Heifetzian inspirations;) My first impression of his playing is from the TV show (the one where he played a couple encores plus Scottish Fantasy), which I first watched at 5.

Incredible interpretation - with his many different sounds and inflections one only gets from this amazing man. No one gets near to these mood changes and variable subtleties. Every note is a gem. Never heard this live performance before.

I can't believe. This version has the best 2do movement that i remember. The naturality on the recits it's really amazing

I remember hearing Heifetz' first faculty sonata recital in Hancock Auditorium at USC in the mid-sixties with Lillian Steuber. The program was Kreutzer, Debussy and Strauss. And that is all I need to say.

I much prefer this live recording, to Heifetz's studio recording. His incredible sound amazes me every time, the greatest sound in history.
