Both fish fell to Jase’s home-made, meshed S7 cork-ball pop-ups, the process behind which had until now been kept under wraps. In this exclusive video, Jase reveals exactly how he makes his hookbaits and what he does to them afterwards to make them impervious to the attentions of small fish and crayfish.

If you mesh them is there a need to boil them as they will give off more attractors in paste form and the mesh will protect them from nuisance fish !

Without boiling it would absorb water super quickly and then just fall off after an hour or two, ideal in terms of attraction potential but leaves you with a corkball as bait while the roach make of with the remnants of your paste

Doesnt the basemix need to be sieved for hookbaits?
