A dream doesn't become reality through magic; It takes sweat, determination and hard work.
Singer Javed Ali can vouch for that.
It was in early 90s when he had a dream to sing for AR Rahman.
Though Javed Ali entered film industry in the year 2000, yet it took another 8 years to get an opportunity to sing for Rahman.
The song was Jashn-E-Bahaaraa in Jodha Akbar - 2008 (Directed by Ashutosh Gowariker, Starring Hrithik Roshan, Aishwarya Rai, Sonu Sood)
Ghulam Ali, the great Ghazal singer from Pakistan was being considered for the song.
But destiny had other plans. It was meant for Javed Ali.
Jashn-E-Bahaaraa - a simple song, with minimum musical instruments and arrangement.
But how difficult it is to sing a song that’s simple?

Yeh thoda zyaada ho gaya .. 20-30 picture mein music compose karne keliye bharat ratna de dhe ?? Badiya hai !! Sahi mein thoda tande dimak se Socho, kaha Roja , dil se, Bombay , rangeela, taal wala Rehman aur kaha baad waala Rehman ?? He is not the same he was. He has become more of a very ordinary musician now. Sorry

@@DharaneeshKH Yes agree. Nowadays Rahman music has lost that haunting quality it used to have back in the days. But still, he's achievements far surpass his failures that makes him worthy of getting a Bharat Ratna. But yes, even if he's doing 25% of the great work he did back then, he's good enough to be qualified for Bharat Ratna as he won't be labelled as a thing of the past! I pray that everytime I listen to his evergreen tracks.

Javed Ali is right when he said Rahman knows how to explore and exploit an artiste’s potential. From his very first film itself, he didn’t shy away from using new voices. In fact, in terms of singers who sang for Roja most ppl could remember fresh voices more than even established singers who sang for it at that time. With just an alaap in the title song, he made sujata a household name that we can’t forget even today. So, is minmini with Dil hai Chotaasa. Ofcrs, while Sujata never looked back, Minimini vanished soon after from the playback scene. But these two singers are more fondly remembered for this album than even established Singers names like Chitra or SPB. And with his unusual talent and success to spot fresh voices and turn them into golden goose, he did launch any number of singers who are not from the industry or those who were struggling to get their footholds. No other music director, esp. during 90s can dare to attempt recording his very first album with absolutely new voices. And those voices were such a good match that one can’t help but admire the brilliance of his judgement. And by the time Javed Ali entered the scene, Rahman is already a veteran in picking up new voices in and making them a grand success. So it comes as no surprise or a no-brainer to me if he said Rahman has great talent or judgement in picking up new voices. Because he has been always doing that from his very first film and every time he did it, he had a sixer or a boundary! Hail the genius as always!!

Another fabulous episode, thank you Umeshji and O2India team. Javed shares a certain spiritual demeanour reminiscent of our ARR. Such a landmark song and album (and that’s another cliche!). Minimalist but carries the complex weight of the situation, emotion and historical age… The quieter his songs are the more intense and powerful they are. To be able to translate ARR’s vision so brilliantly in so many songs is no mean task and a testament to Javed’s talent.

Javed and AR Rahman is my favourite combo. They did some really wonderful songs after which he was used by other Tamil composers as well. His Tum Tak and Kilimanjaro are my favourites!!

film mughal e azam mein jo gaana gaaya tha woh the bade ghulam ali khan saab aur jis ki photo istemaal kee gayi hai woh the ghazal singer ghulam ali- donon same nahin hain- thoda careful raho bhai achi videos bana rahe ho magar yeh choti choti mistakes ko avoid kar sakte ho toh behtar hoga.

In Mughal-E Azam - for a roamtic scene - Bade Ghulam Ali Khan saheb had sung for the backgroud. While he says that - we have used clips of Mughal-E Azam. 2) Then he says for Jodha Akbar - they had pans to get Ghulam Ali Saheb to sing. But instead of that - Javed Ali was selected. It is at that point that we have used Ghulam Ali Saheb's picture. Since these sequences came in quick succession, perhaps that cretaed a confusion in your mind Regards
