7th Voyage of Sinbad for more great stop motion effects from Ray Harryhausen.

I was 10 years old when I first saw this. Overall it's a shame they don't make films like this anymore

I never knew you had a movie reaction channel. Only found it because I happened to watch a vid on @YoureMrLebowski that featured Dark&Skull among other reactors. And an ARMA3 bell went off in my head "That's DLZ's voice". Grew up watching classic movies like this on UK television back in the day, Harryhausen's stop motion stuff is freakin' epic. One actor I thought you might possibly recognise (from his distinctive voice) was Nigel Greene playing Hercules. He was one of the main actors in Zulu (1964) alongside Stanley Baker and Michael Caine.

I just found your channel. I loved this film so much as a kid I wore out the VHS tape. Hera was played by Honor Blackman who played P*say Galore in the bond film. Great reaction can’t wait to see your Arlington road reaction.

The actress playing Hera also plays Pussy Galore in Goldfinger.

This is second generation "animation". Harryhausen trained under Willis O'Brien, who made the original "King Kong".

If you ever watch the TV series "Hercules the Legendary Journeys" the main stars were Hercules and Iolas, who are now friends, set years after their adventures with Jason and the Argonauts.

Great reaction, you two! I saw Jason and the Argonauts on tv in the early 90's as a 5 year old and it captured my imagination and curiosity for film and history at the same time. Decades later, I still absolutely love this film.

I remember watching the film on UK TV in the early 70s. I can tell you it was a major event, and everyone would make sure to watch it, especially kids. No video recorders back then, so if you missed it, you never knew when it would be on again. Also, we would be watching it full frame on 625 line resolution CRT TVs, many still having black and white, but we didn't care as those special effects were amazing, and even today are very impressive. If you enjoyed Gwangi, try One Million Years BC from 1966 with Raquel Welch.

It was still the same for me growing up in the 90s. It was often on on weekends when I would be visiting my grandparents with my family and we would always watch it.

Don't worry; most of those actors are all unknowns, and even the ones that are know are SLIGHTLY known. Nancy Kovak, I know she appeared in something else I know. Honor Blackmon was a Bond girl I think. The only name to know on this movie is Ray Harryhausen! (my first comment as I'm only about 50 seconds into the reaction, lol)

Cool to see younger people enjoy these older movies. I know it's cheesy now but these were amazing when i was a kid and they would play them on TV

Fantastic reaction!! I saw this when I was a kid.....and always took it for granted! I only saw it again relatively recently and I was blown away! Hey, you know what I want you guys to see? The ORIGINAL "King Kong"! Which is what was Ray Harryhausen's biggest inspiration! (i think he might have even worked on King Kong, can't remember). DEFINITELY put that on your list! From 1933! STILL holds up, STILL the best King Kong. The fact that it's from 1933 works FOR the movie, not against it! Anyways, this was so much fun to revisit with you! As I said, I saw it lots when I was a little boy in the 70s but I'm really a new fan of the movie. Or "born again" shall we say! lol. Great seeing you, as always! (how's the new place?!)

PS: As far as movies from the 60s, special effects wise......there's one movie above all and that's "2001: A Space Odyssey" (1968), that one looms over every special effects movie, before or since! (Kubrick, of course!). The same day "2001" came out, so did the fantastic "Planet Of The Apes". If you decide to watch those two movies close together, watch "2001", then do "Planet Of The Apes"! I will only be able to explain after you've seen them both! lol. Both are DEFINITELY worth watching and you guys would do FANTASTIC reactions to both. (ditto the original "King Kong"!!!!!)

The man that conjures the Skeletons is the second Doctor Who Patrick Troughton. Sam Rami loved the Skeletons scene so much he used as inspiration for the skeleton scenes in Army of Darkness.

I would assume that Jason & co. were a proud bunch that would never flee a battle, also if they did the skeletons would catch up with them. Ive never liked the ending with him simply jumping off of a cliff, as if they didnt know how to end the story. with Talos he used his wits, & it worked, here he could have rolled and cut through the leg bones, & continued decapitating the skulls, one last critisism the ending is too abrupt after so much action I thought a return home scene after a fade shot epitaph would have been better with out slowing the pace any. (the same problem with WEREWOLF IN LONDON & ROBOCOP otherwise this remains a classic, Ray Harryhausen himself, never did any better than this with...15 other films
