3 жыл бұрын"I just turned 18 and I was so happy Hurricane gave me this guitar. Uncle Ron filmed me in Gar's studio. I was working on writing the Perpetual Burn album at this time. Marty and I had just finished making Speed Metal Symphony. I had gotten Itzhak Perlman's album of Paganini's 24 caprices. This is the one I wanted to learn first. I bought the sheet music and went to town. I took some liberties so I could play it easier on guitar. I kept trying to play the 4 small note arpeggios with just a pick, but that was too hard, so I used my ring finger and pick; that worked nicely. I was playing on my red Marshall 800 that my parents had gotten me for my high school graduation gift. These were fun times."

You do realise it's a paganini cover right? 🤣 20th century version of mozart..... For covering a 19th century violinist? 🤣 Yes, Jason is a great composer but not the best video to use as an example if he's playing a cover lol

Dear Jason Maybe you have heard this many times before but I have to say that one more time straight from my heart and soul. Your music changes life. You and Marty helped me to survive a really hard time in my life and changed my perception of music and personality. You have definitely set the bar too high when it comes to playing the guitar which drives me crazy. Your music made me to look in a different way on my guitar playing and I came to the conclusion how this instrument is important to me. Hope you are doing well now and wish you could inspire and help more people like me. Best wishes from Poland.

I showed my then 86-year-old Mom "Air" and told her Jason's story. She could not fathom that he was ONLY 17 OR 18 YEARS OLD when he did "Perpetual Burn." I can't either honestly. Jason truly is a modern-day equivalent of a true prodigy like Mozart. That he STILL composes spectacular instrumental music DESPITE THE FACT ALS ONLY ALLOWS HIM TO COMMUNICATE WITH EYE MOVEMENT ALONE and the fact that he is 50+ years old now-after having been told he "might" survive two or three years-is a TRUE testament to the power and will of the human spirit. Jason, you are a hero and inspiration to ALL of us.

This is both amazing and hurts to watch. The relentlessness of it, and to think he had albums surpassing what people even thought musically possible on guitar at 18, not only that he was playing with other legends like Marty Friedman at such a young age and surpassing them in their own words... mind blowing the otherworldly sounds he was capable of producing at speeds and finesse... Truly his gift was stolen from mankind... Jason Becker will always be my #1 favorite musician.

Is there anyone else gifted with the holy trinity of shred!? #1Musically, #2Technically and the rarest of them all #3 visually effortless! He doesn't even flutter , just a perpetually fluid motion... sounds super tacky but every guitar god since the 80s has sung his praises and even the hottest, modern shredders bust their ass to thoroughly prepare before starting an anxiety ridden pilgrimage , to shred their favorite JB composition while simultaneously praying not to offend the perfectly pictched ears located on JBs head who just happens to be sitting right across from them, just observing their every movement... once completed JB delivers some praise and comci relief by informing them they could of played any song ot didn't have to he of his... which everyone including the player finds comical.. technically you nevery really know how JB honestly rates your skill UNLESS you follow lore of the JB pilgrimage!!! Apparently of JB is truly impress you'll be almost immediately offered a chance to play some of his personal axes!! After some more research I think it's safe to consider this factual and now part of the JB considered

This is the video that almost made me cry at a public computer, I was 16 and wanted to know who is Jason Becker?? Since some friends told me that he was a guitar god, absolutely fell in love with his playing, and songs, those last 30 seconds almost made me cry again, 15 years later 🥲🥲🥲😭😭, gotta love Jason

Jason will always and forever be my favorite guitar player...i discovered him on a website called kazzaa around 20 years ago, the song serrana from perspective and was absolutely blown away by the beauty of the arpeggios and the arrangement...then i looked up more and found mabels fatal fable etc and was immediately in the woodshed for YEARS learning these incredible songs....thank you Jason for your incredible spirit and music we love you so much!
