I re-uploaded my Soul of the Draogn video but with a change to honor JDF.
As you all know Jason David Frank tragically took his life this past Saturday. It's hit the community very hard and we are still going through it. Before I say my thoughts, if you are struggling and/or suffering in any kind of way, PLEASE seek help or the resources to get help. You're not alone and there is absolutely nothing to be ashamed of. That could be the biggest first step to turning things around. Don't let those dark thoughts overcome you.
It's no surprise how much JDF meant to us fans. For myself and many others, he was my favorite Power Ranger. One of my first heroes and role models on tv. Seeing the evolution and growth of his character from his struggles to leadership to becoming a mentor was incredible because every time you saw him return it was like catching up with an old friend, despite being a fictional character. But that's the kind of impact Jason David Frank had as Tommy in the show. To the point where discussion almost always brings JDF and Tommy up almost synchronously.
The man loved the fans and despite some ups and downs, we loved him as well. He was always full of energy and just so passionate about the brand. I had the pleasure of meeting him at PMC 2018 when we did a photo op. I walked up and he was excited as hell to see me wearing the Black Dino Morpher, then introduced himself as if I didn't know who he was 😂 After our pic was taken I thanked him again and told him how much of an honor it was, and as I left the area he told me don't forget to watch Dimensions in Danger airing on August 28, as if I didn't know. I laughed and responded saying I wouldn't forget 😂 I always look back very positively on that moment, because despite it being brief, it was such a down to earth moment of genuine excitement for both of us, and meeting my favorite Ranger helped bring me to full circle as a fan.
It's still hard to process the last few days. Personally I've been rewatching a bunch of my favorite Tommy episodes and moments. But all of you whatever it is, share your favorite JDF memory, whether it is him as Tommy or from a personal experience.
