McEnroe and Garfield both have personalities that people know them for. this video just brings light to that fact. no one was in the wrong in this video. i thoroughly enjoyed watching it. people just need to grow up.

That was very funny. I just saw my first video of Jason about one hour ago and although I am not a juggler (I'm a magician), I became a fan of his work and his way of thinking

Jason is a juggler who takes himself seriously. That's why he's so angry, he's trying to get the world to take him, and us, seriously.

I agree with your opinion about (sport)juggling and unfortunately, most people don't understand this statement. But I've a question too: What transition did you make on 5:28 into the full shower? (I'm searching for transitions into the shower pattern that are not too difficult)

That's awfully rude. Personally, I thought that Mr McEnroe did not host Mr Garfield very well, as he kept trying to make a joke out of whatever Mr Garfield did. Additionally, he didn't listen very well at all. Jason Garfield cares about sport juggling, and tries to represent it as well as possible. When people bash it, it's understandable for him to take offense to it. Or at least that's my impression from him creating the WJF, and donating quite a lot of prize money to other competitors.

if jason had had a pro juggler throwing the balls to him he would have done it fine, but that guy didn't know what he was doing. i know cos i have done it myself, but only with three balls

Haha, I feel your pain Jason. I get all of this same junk when juggling around people. The throw-ins that are lower than my 5 ball height, and them expecting me to catch it and go into 6, the 2 ball shower crap. It's not as annoying the fact that they don't know these things, so much as the fact that they are impatient and don't listen. One thing I don't understand though is why you are cross to juggling large numbers in front of an audience. Do you not like numbers juggling?

Hey Jason, why did you claim to have the world record in 11 balls? Not only has Alex Barron qualified it now, but Bruce Sarafian got 15 catches in 1995 or 1996. You claimed to get 14 in 2001.

I think I'm more of a trad juggler in that I learnt it more for the point of itself, and the technical ability than for showmanship. My favourite type of showing off is to fellow jugglers who can point out how technically I can get better or vary the tricks I'm doing, not so much to entertain people who can't juggle. So in a way, I'm kind of on Jason's side in all this.

jason has a "potentially" pretty good sense of humor; what he needs is just a little more lean-back style and intervals i think. it's kind of a pace issue. allow people some time to laugh, let people laugh, and be cool.

My question though was this: "The audience, and the host wanted you to juggle more than you juggled on this show, but you were unwilling to do so: Why?"

@JasonRGarfield That's a perfectly acceptable problem to have, and I agree. Any realistic, rational performer would agree with that. Partially skilled posers endanger progress and reputation of any performance art/sport. Keep pioneering, Jason! We're counting on you.

That's a good idea to learn juugling to the presentator TV! That's better than just show what we can do it with balls (or other thing...) About Jason, I don't think he is the best juggler in the world but one of the best juggler.

No,not at all,but if you are going on very high numbers,like 7 clubs,it is better if you have lift weight before.

fun should be part of a performance, Your HIghness. If you perform, in front of people, it should be fun and amazing. You are trying to create some type of "street juggling", like the XCM movement in magic now.

@JasonRGarfield between 9:50 and 10:10 the host asks you how many you can do, you say 10. He and the audience want to see. You say that you have to draw the line somewhere, then the host asks if you can do 6 or 8. You do 5 instead. Just wondering why you didn't do any 6,7, or 8 ball stuff.

yeh you're basically throwing balls up in the air and then catching them when they fall... gravity is doing most of the work for you... you just need to put your hand in the right place. why is he talking like juggling is some awe inspiring art form? its a circus ACT! its a little eye pleaser but thats it. While I understand your critical view of the typical juggler, don't you think it's kind of hypocritical to rip on people who are just trying to make a living as an entertainer when you essentially do the same thing? I'm not disagreeing with all of your viewpoints, but you make many scathing remarks about "most jugglers". Juggling is something that can and should be enjoyed by all, and it's difficult to be on your side when you're so closed off to the other aspects of juggling.

and then again, McEnroe isnt exactly the best host at guiding the guest.
