"Barbra Streisand" of all people is praising her son in a very poorly written comment on KZfaq that makes her sound like a narcissistic jackass?? As P.T. Barnum said, "There's a sucker born every minute."

Something to be said about Barbra as a mother: she loved her son unconditionally. Many don't have that. Every concert, she always mentions her son Jason. Such pride and love there.
@jackmason4029
@jackmason4029 Жыл бұрын
As long as I was a fan, darling Miss Streisand never, ever, mentioned her son. She was an actress for awhile. She had the gift of pulling wool over people's eyes. You don't become an international recording artist, a Broadway star, and a movie star, being nice. She was an actress. That mother schtick was just hot air used to soften her edges, when she got older. She was notorious for her stage fright, and did not do concerts for many, many, decades. That Mommie, Dearest stuff was only added when she did that very, very, very expensive come-back tour. That's when she became a "doting" mother.
@jackmason4029
@jackmason4029 Жыл бұрын
She was so proud of her son, she made him an extra in her movies. On one set, when she was everything including the director (vanity production X ten), she called out with her loud microphone to the cast and crew, "Come on Jason. Stop being such a fag." Loving mother? Puke!

@@sewgatormomm I'm on Team @jack. The more that was revealed about some of Barbra's nasty habits (don't look directly at her, for one), the more she incorporated Jason into her schtick. She's hardly the only one. Judy Garland, Frank Sinatra, Lucille Ball, Jerry Lewis, and really going back, Bing Crosby and Joan Crawford, were awful parents but used their kids to impart a wholesome quality to their images. But, of course, anyone who doesn't see things your way is being untruthful and malicious.

I'm taken back by his candor, earthiness, honesty and character. His talent seems a natural outcropping of his own investment instead of the expectations of others. The subtlety of his control is beautiful and his natural gentleness comes through in his song. Every singer has an imbedded character, Judy Garland had a tangible fragility, Bernadette Peters has a natural sexuality, Mel Torme had quiet confidence and Jason has a gentle but powerful heart. If there is anything surprising here it is the few number of people who are aware of this video or his music.

Dear Jason, I just wanted to let you know how your first EP released in 2012 has helped me through a rough time. I had bought it at your mother's concert in Montréal on October 15th 2012 and couldn't stop listening to it, especially to the song HELLO. I loved its music, the arrangements and the atmosphere of it...not really focusing on the lyrics...until a month later when my brother committed suicide. At the moment, the words hit me like thunder, talking about the death of someone you didn't have the chance to say good-bye to. I must have listened to that song hundreds of time 'cause it was really describing what I was going through. It really helped me release all the emotions I was feeling during that dark time. I especially liked the bridge part of the song : "I'll meet you where the stars And the sun run out of sky Where the mem'ries of our lives collide Where the time will run away Where the moment never dies Forever you and I" That really connected me with my brother. So thank you very much to have dared offering a song approaching the theme of "death" which, like you said, will be something we'll all have to deal with at some point in our lives. I'm looking forward to listening to your DARK GREY SKIES album and DANGEROUS MAN which I didn't know had been an album following your first EP. So thank you again !

The first time I heard "How Deep Is The Ocean", I thought, my God, this man has a fantastic voice. And now, judging from this interview, what a wonderful friend you must be to anyone who knows you. I know how proud of you your mother must be...And it's well deserved! Whenever I hear "How Deep..." I always think of my own Mother, who passed in 2006. There are so many times I still think of her, and it's not the big things that mean so much, but the smallest, simplest, sweetest things that I remember about her that bring out my deepest feelings. And that song says it all! Thank you so much for just being you! Take care.

Then you get older and as they say, “if you don’t use it you lose it” and I just lost it. In fact Barbra was my mentor and I was able to sing most of her music. My husband was over the moon with my voice. However, every time he hears one of her songs, he asks me to sing along and I just can’t anymore 😢 Jason has a beautiful voice.

Jason, you keep comparing yourself to others. Don't do it! You have a great talent all your own so be proud and thankful for what you have been given to share with the world. Just remember it is all YOURS and no one else's. Now go forth and SING!

You are so right about death, so many fear it because of the unknown. I embrace it to meet my maker and to ask questions , a lot of them lol. I’m Jewish too but I embrace the Tora with life and love just like mom made Yentle that was my fav movie your mom did.

Jason quit hiding yourself and sing! You have a beautiful gift,it would be sad for you to keep it to yourself. I would have loved to have what you have,please continue to sing,don't let it go! Don't let your shyness and insecurities or whatever it is keep you hidden from the world. Embrace your gift. The world is missing you. We need good talented people like yourself,there's alot of fakes out there,that think they can sing. We need you! 🤗 I've realized it was your moms birthday not too long ago, I like to say " Happy 80th Birthday Barbra " ,she's my 1#favorite singer! Many more Happy Birthdays to her! 🎂 🎈 🍾 🥂

Many children of celebrities end up messing up in their lives. Jason reflects well on both his parents. More than being talented, he is well adjusted and emotionally mature. Kudos to Ms. Streisand and Mr. Gould.
