The bobblehead giveaway obviously caused a huge turnout. Such a nice gesture for Shohei to come out and bestow all those gifts on a young deserving fan in person. The kid was obviously in awe and grateful for what was presented to him. What bothered me, though, was that I read many of the bobblehead dolls given out prior to the game were immediately offered for sale online after the game. That's disrespectful and money-grubbing. The actual memento didn't seem important enough to them.

DMac- No on Vargas. Last year Outman hit 23 home runs. He is a potential HR hitter at least like a fast running, good defense Muncy. Vargas is no where near Outman power. Verlander's always been a bust in the postseason. He's too old anyway. And Shohei isn't superhuman. Ohtani is a draw because he's a two way player who's solid on both sides of offense and defense. He's pretty good but no matter what you pay him he's only one component where any given year you need several components to click in October to have a chance. The game of baseball has totally changed. It's not the same game it used to be in alot of ways. Some things remain the same . But the payscale in baseball has gone totally insane! They're just handing guys 30 million a year now who can't even play. Just look at Bellinger. How does he rate 30 million a year? I think Rushing's too small. ( Mookie's an anamoly almost. Most of the smaller guys aren't great. ) I don't like Depaula's attitude. He has solid mechanics though. I'm not sold on Hurt either. I don't like the way he sits on his back leg when he throws. Hurt doesn't blow guys away. That might be a pretty good trade for Mason Miller. Yeah that's got to be a pretty good trade. Well if Bo Bichette is starting to hit and he has weak defense he's probably a bad move to fill your shortstop position. It's not like the Dodgers don't have alot of holes right now , but it takes time to bring in the talent and have it gell at the same time. This team has no chemistry right now. It's all going to be how the front office moves to alter the team chemistry and cook up a twelve course meal. You need alot of components with the right attributes and the hardest part is to bring them together at the right time agewise and where they are careerwise to generate the vibe and support where they feed off eachother's play and it's a pleasure to get to the ballpark everyday. you might have to bring up some more rookies to pick up the slack at third and short. Mookie's a good athlete but shortstop isn't his calling fulltime. Rojas looks a bit beefier this year but he's still an okay backup shortstop. And Muncy's done. You're going to have to retire that guy soon. He's lost all the plate discipline he used to have. He should get an academy award for shedding some pounds and working on his defense though. Yeah but he's just floating in the major leagues on fumes at this point. Max is strictly a DH and maybe that would help his offense or he could DH for a team like the Twins to have value for another year or two and revitilize his career. MAYBE. I just think you've got to bring up Hoese and a young shortstop from the farm system and let them develop even if they make mistakes. The seasons are long. See what you have around the trade deadlines then adjust to how deep and strong the major league roster is before making decisions to go for a big trade if it looks and feels like it might vault you over the top. Yeah. But the Dodgers are in disarray right now in several areas. And the game of baseball is way different than it used to be. Tons of hitters are having big troubles hitting .200 anymore. The pitching has transformed with the dissemination of knowledge and offspeed ,breaking pitches,and fastball velocity has risen precipitously in alot of cases. Look at Doval the other day. He's throwing 100 ,102. Hitters are getting blown away! They can't even tell what the pitches are anymore with spin rate science increasing. That's why baseball needs to move the mounds back to improve hitting , while raising the mounds back to twelve inches in hieghth to protect pitcher's arms and ease the load off of their arms while raising hitter's averages and offensive capabilities. Now the precise distance to move the mounds back will vary until a sweet spot has been found where hitters can hit well enough and pitchers can pitch decently enough. And baseball might die off within a few years anyway. With all the psychopaths controlling everybody. But the way baseball used to be played is over! And it aint coming back. It's a relic of a bygone era that lasted about a century or a little more. And it was changing the whole time anyway. But now it's like an almost totally different game..... It's like humans have branched off from eachother and become different species compared to the way the game used to be played. Some things remain the same .
