This is FANTASTIC!!! I got booted from Twitter b/c I got in a heated debate with Stephen A. Smith @ ESPN, so I can't tweet @ Mr. Isbell....perhaps he will read this comment :) First, everything about this interview is impeccable. The mutual humor and respect in this exchange is a delight. Second, I love that Jason intentionally pruned his fanbase thru Twitter. Many (most?) artists are cautious not to offend. Kudos to Mr. Isbell for being true to himself and in turn, trusting his audience would remain. Lastly, I see so much of his daughter, Mercy, in him in this appearance, especially around his eyes. From the limited evidence available online for the public to observe, he and Ms. Shires appear to be raising a lovely, smart, self-confident human. And when all is said and done, even given the brilliance of his work, that may be what he ends up being most proud of in the long run. Thanks for hosting him today. He's a keeper!

I have lived in Georgia for decades and I do not know this man. I guess because he's from Alabama and I don't listen to country. I heard REM and Indigo Girls. Most people would do Ray Charles, Gladys Knight, Otis Redding, Black Crowes, Allman Bros, Jason Aldean, Alan Jackson, Luke Bryan, Zac Brown Band. He'd be a legend if he tired Manchester Orchestra, Outkast, Run the Jewels, Sevendust, Mastodon, Deerhunter, Drivin n Cryin, Marvelous 3, Goodie Mob, or Ludacris. And B-52s would just be hilarious.

I agree! IF our “ trusted servants” had taken the pandemic seriously from the “get go”, instead of deciding it was a personal attack on one man’s political bs, the climate might be a whole lot different…
