Known as 'The General' he was a key member of the notorious Chelsea Head Hunters and was jailed for 6 years after the BBC's Donal MacIntyre infiltrated his Firm. When my first marriage was on the way out , I finally won a row with her indoors after 5 years thanks to Football. She was moaning how “ we never go anywhere together- we never do anything together “ ( at this point I can testify how I’d put up with her regular Horsey activities & had done all the visits for her interests ) So I says to her “ You’ve never once got in the car and come to watch Boscombe with me - not even suggested it once “ And she says to this “ WHY would I wanna go to watch fucking football - I hate it ! “ And somehow I had the presence of mind to hit the cow with “ To be with ME …doing something I like for just 2 fucking hours “ She said absolutely Nothing back cos she couldn’t argue …😁👍

Good to see that Marriner's time behind bars helped him reflect on his criminal past, become remorseful and to mature as a person. I see other clips of modern day football fans at the game - mostly full-grown men in their 20's - packed into the stands right next to each other and taunting each other like school children. I wonder at what age do these man-babies grow up and leave their childish things behind. Marriner provides a good example of someone learning from the error of his ways, overcoming his ignorance and growing old gracefully. Kudos.

I used to live near Wandsworth prison. A couple of times visited on behalf of a charity I worked for. It was a pretty depressing experience, because although the prisoners and the warders all seemed willing to do their best, there just weren’t the resources or the physical space to do much for the prisoners re- habilitation. Jason seems to have adjusted well and has come through it in a better space. I hope he continues to prosper.

Watching this with my mate Sean even thou he has chronic ptsd had both legs amputated above the knee and is blind in one eye not though fighting on the terraces stuff he wont talk about whilst in Afghanistan. Sean still laughs🤣 🤣 🤣 when he sees videos of proper hard men like well fed Jason Marrina talking about burgers, rolls and football. "know what I mean ? "
