I was born and raised in California and have been all across this great nation! But I have never been anywhere in America, and they didn't know DJ Quik! But I will say not everyone has thought he was a legand like me. They might say he good and they like him, but then i have to remember they are not from the left coast and didn't feel, see our have the memories I had associated with Quik! Quik is like almost every uncle or cousin i have, so the stuff he was rapping about we were living,and sometimes in the same spots he was talking about. So he is a big part of my life's soundtrack!

Basically everything changed for Quik when he decided to work for the love and not the cheque. Once he focused on the love of it and tapped into working with a younger generation, the brand deals came.
