BUILT TO CRUISE EPISODE #20 Hear Jason "ODB" tell the story of his full custom S-10 "Bada-Bing" and how it won the very last Minitruck of the Year award from Minitruckin Magazine.
Jason tells the story of his inspiration to take his daily driver Minitruck from slightly custom, to a full frame built showstopper. His truck morphed from the original vision into a Minitruckin Magazine Cover truck, all thanks to Jimmy's Rod N Customs.
Jason tell of his experiences at one of the largest car shows in the United States, Showfest in Greenville, MS. He compares the show to a Minitrucker Woodstock. Where thousands of Minitruckin Enthusiasts would invade this small town for a yearly get together.
Jason also produces a Minitruckin-inspired Podcast called Our Lifestyle the Podcast. Speechless was discussed and we were guests on episode #7!
Jason takes us down a path of nostalgia and shares his insight and inspirational story of his continued drive to bring a full custom Minitruck to the car show scene. Jason encourages all Minitruckers to stay "On Da Rise!"

Thanks for all the comments on "Project Bada Bing" #BadaBingST hashtag on Instagram. Anyone that knows me, Jason "ODB" Ballard, knows I always give credit where credit is due. Trying to thank everyone during a video interview is NOT always capable. Jimmy's Rod & Customs (JRnC) (including Shane when at SNC) gets the credit for this one because, WITHOUT them, the truck would have never been finished! Others that played a role include: Plz checkout @OurlifestylePodcast however you find podcasts or here: ourlifestylepodcast.podbean.com -My awesome wife Mattie & son Preston -Interior: Chris Tisdale @ Big Body Custom Interiors -Basecoat paint: Josh Garman -Chrome molding graphic: Texano (drove from Daytona to perform the work over a ~2 day period) -Matt Torgersen: originally bagged/bodydropped the truck prior to JRnC building entirely new frame -Colorado Custom Wheels; I love the South Beach wheels! -Paul Lane who is one of my BEST friends and has done EVERY stereo setups in all of my vehicles! Built the box! -Ron Francis Wiring which allowed me to crank over the 96 S-10 4.3 Blazer motor with no issue! -So many others.... from chrome plater, powder coater, body work (local guy in Dayonta Jimmy knew), detailer (Charlie), media (iHate Phil shot it for MT mag cover among others for various mags/features) & all the companies that make GREAT products that we used on the truck... too many to list! -#SeverdTies & #SeveredTiesFL which is the club I've been in for ~20 years! -If I forgot to mention you please accept my apologies #RIPpapaSmurfBallard Cover feature: www.trucktrend.com/cool-trucks/1307mt-bada-bing-1994-chevrolet-s-10/ Chassis feature: www.trucktrend.com/cool-trucks/1008mt-1994-chevy-s10photo-gallery/#photo-01

That Red Hot Nissan was everywhere it seemed back in the day. Acrophobia, ST, NC, Relaxed, all were clubs I remember seeing in the issues of Truckin and Minitruckin. Dave was a big influence in my later builds as I aspired to be in the magazines like all the amazing rides I had saw for years.

I've always been a fan of mini trucks since i was 9yrs old and know I'm in my 30s and love them till this day hoping i can get my hands on a 94 Isuzu pickup truck regular cab with the short bed dropped on 18s with the wheels popping out of the fenders I'm just " mini truckin back to the basics" as in other words going back to the old school and showing the new generation on how it was done back in the day for mini trucks, because back in the day there wasn't any oversized wheels like 24s - 34-inches nope we just had 15-inches -18-inches and that's just how it was back then i wish we could go back.🤙👍🤘✌

There are a lot of older minitruckers who are starting to build old school style. Static drop, reverse offset wheels, camper shells, you name it. It's like when the generation before us started building muscle cars. Minitrucks are the classics of our youth.

In 05 when we went we rode 13 hrs in a 250 dollar caddy I bought days before . Cause it had AC and pulled in to town friday morning with out a hotel booked and stopped at the Shoneys and the waitress told us how crazy the locals would get that weekend . And all the hotels were booked ,we actually got a suite at the marriot that none of us could afford . We called a buddy back home and he paid for it . (lol) And then parted with the guys from PMA at the hotel . Man so many memories and so many people i wished i had known back then I know now .
