40% of the whole population is of chinese ancestry (sangley/sang`le) from fujian province before spain came 500-600yrs ago BUT became "philip"inos. the other half is what you normally think about. so NO, filipinos are not all tanned. guaranteed you see them around you and not know theyre filipinos becuase of the "image" you have on filipinos edit: loud "iron chef" host and reggie ocampo (lee) / "lance" from fast and furious are actually filipinos

I don't think anyone should or can erase/delete their heritage. Even "Americans" still identify themselves as of "Irish" origin, for instance. Moving to another country doesn't change one's identity; only the passport changes, plus an amount of loyalty to the new host country. If you personally have renounced your Croatian-Swedish lineage, that's your choice.

Yes of course he's an American through and through but his roots and his cultural identity is still half Filipino. They take pride in recognizing their roots because it's just cool that way, you rarely get to see or people acknowledging anyone Asians, it was kinda kept hidden. It's nice to see Americans that looks like me though.
