Sometimes people give up children because they are simply not ready to commit to parenthood and its a tremendous act of love and courage to allow them to be adopted into a loving and stable home. Often its much more than money that keeps someone from raising their own child

Jason's birthmom made a very heroic CHOICE before we met her. She was never coerced. If she had kept him he would have been forceably taken from her later and would now be in foster care because of the circumstances she is now in. That would have caused him far more trauma and heartache than the pain of separation at birth. If only other moms in similar situations could so wisely foresee that it may not be the best choice to raise their child but be able to choose a loving, stable home for them.

You are sure making a lot of assumptions about a future that never happened. What if she met a nice guy that helped her rise above her trauma and helper her raise her son? You assume the worst and it sickens me.

Yeah gonna have to agree with hey baby you can't be certain what his life could've been and it's totally wrong to play the savior role in this situation. Help the mother help the child. You can play it like you're saving him from an uncertain/dangerous situation. Please do yourself and your son a favor and allow him to know his mother so that there isn't any questions in the future. He deserves to know his first family

The birth mother made a selfless decision and should be celebrated for her bravery. The very best for her son. If one knows that being a parent is not the right choice for you at that moment it's the most courageous thing ever.

These little angels will be ten years old this year. Of all the clips I've watched on KZfaq this is my favourite, it's also my go to whenever i feel sad or unhappy. Thank you.

I’ve probably watched this a dozen times now, it always makes me happy, no matter my circumstances. Happy, slightly early, tenth birthday Jason, and happy, slightly late, tenth birthday Jory.

I didnt mention money. As I said..I am an adoptee..AND a mother who had my own child stolen. I am not disagreeing with your point...you are right...however...I am as well. My point was that there are many suffering..parents AND children being torn apart...and forced apart because instead of helping keep the family together, the selfish choice is made to separate the family AND alot of times it IS money...and ..like in my case..the people could not have a child of their own. We need a voice.

I didn't like how you said he was delivered into the arms of those who love him. A mother who can place her child for adoption is someone who loves him. I'm adopted and am grateful that my mom raised me with a healthy view about my adoption and my birth mother. She loved me enough to put me before herself.

She loved him enough to realize that her financial and mental instability would most likely place him in danger of future trauma that her love might not be able to overcome.
@Heybaby458
@Heybaby458 7 жыл бұрын
Pointing out her financial and mental instability seems heartless. Why not just be grateful to her without using a backhanded compliment? She gave your son life, no matter her reasons for giving him up. The world does not need to know why. To assume future danger if he stayed with his mom sure makes his birth mom seem evil and the statement that "her love might not be able to overcome" this danger, makes it seem like she didn't love him enough. Is that your intent?

Aww ....glad everything turned out good..what a blessing. I also have a twin girl who was born to heaven. My oldest was distressed at birth and had the cord around her neck...she was moved to another hospital's NICU and with my health I couldnt go right away...they also called a social worker in...fortunately they realised what was happening and all was well..she's 20 now

My guess is this adoption is closed considering the comment pinned at the top. I am incensed at how they speak about their birth mom....if only her love was enough to overcome dangers in the future....barf! If she is in their lives, she must be a doormat.

I'm sorry that happened to you. I was a single mom of very preemie twins and the second baby was a total shock and after a 3 day labor I was pretty vocal in my shock and they couldn't get a State Social worker there fast enough to make sure I was sane (I guess), it ended up okay and no one tried to take my kids but I know that isn't always the case.

Saddly only 2 sides are usually told...!: the Bio-parent doesnt want to raise the child....or 2: the Bio-parent can't raise the child....what about those of us who are ripped from our parent's arms in the name of "kindness" or "love" where they actually are only willing to help if they can be in complete control and have the child themselves....this is happening. I lost one of my children to her father's family simply because I could not afford a lawyer. They couldnt have kids and took mine.
@Heybaby458

Exactly, from the post at the top the birth mom had major financial trauma and it seems like this family was in the right place at the right time to exploit the trauma in her life and grab her baby. EVen now they assume that if the child had stayed with bio mom that she would have failed. That sounds evil to me.

why is it though adoptive parents always give a gift of love but they never buy the birth mum new clothes or help pay for her to live some where better, or pay for school, or do something to help her start her life and get the best chance at it, birth mums can easily be left with nothing, no family no love no money and no baby so they feel like what do they have to live for, sorry but all the thanks sometimes doesn't cut it.

littlekiwis Huh, adoption wasn’t enough. Yes the adoptive parents where looking to adopt. In cases like these (newborns) the mother chooses them. Accepting her baby and giving him a better life (birth mother knew she could never do) isn’t enough?
@hilaryc3203
@hilaryc3203 6 жыл бұрын
littlekiwis Why make such a comment when you do not know the background story or at least pay attention to what they did share? They very clearly stated that the birth mom was facing several challenges that were beyond poverty; challenges that would prevent her from caring for a child and would require assistance from several aspects of the community in which she was probably active with.

Yeah..I do believe God meant for couples to adopt the babies and children who were/are litterally unwanted by their natural parents...But I also believe strongly that when the word tells us to care for the fatherless and widows it means to come along side those who want and love their children and help them to keep and raise their own children. I am an adoptee AND mother who had 1 of my children taken by a couple who couldnt have children so I can answer this way. Why seperate mother and child?
