One rule of wrestling: Always be the aggressor. You don’t have to think much. The defender have to counter everything you throw at them
@KB-jk9wk5 жыл бұрын
I’m the only girl in my team too. I’m out this year with an injury but my first year nobody took me serious. Once I started working twice as hard as every guy in that room and was at home working on everything they started to take me serious. Just keep working on it, I got thrown around for most of my first year. Keep practicing and you will get better. Use speed and agility against the boys because they were born stronger than girls. It’s just a fact. Use what you are good at against them and don’t try and muscle them cause it won’t work

Well I'm a guy but these guys I wrestle with are tough too, I am the only 106 in either varsity or JV and it's my first year. Gotta learn this shit so I can defend (be agressive ofc) against these guys lol

I'm a MMA/No GI guy, getting pinned is not an issue unlike wrestling but being able to escape bottom side control is a skill I need to work on, so I'm going to condition hard my neck to do explosive bridges like those.

you muppet I actually had some difficulty hitting this with any kind of consistency. It’s been a bit since I’ve tried it but from what I recall I had trouble going for this without exposing myself to submissions. Good afternoon Jason. I love your videos brother! Your fuckin badass! Jason I got a question, I do 50 REPS EACH OF squats,lunges,sit ups,supermans,push ups,pull ups,dips. How many reps of neck bridges should I do for my neck? Would 50 be fine? I want my muscles from top to bottom to look evenly toned including my neck, I don't want any muscles looking bigger than the other you kno what I mean Jason?

You should ask a bodybuilder, he will be able to help you better. A wrestler should focus on performance, not appearance.
@cascalonginus47918 жыл бұрын
This bodybuilding wrestler says, wrestling is enough to build a strong neck with the appearance u want. Problem lies when trying to strengthen the outside of the wrestling room(strain or pull keeping u out of the wrestling room). With a bull neck, head always up should be enough. Have ur partner go heavy on ur head in neutral and top position💪🏼

PUSH yourself when your in practice and PUSH yourself when you run...and run on your own time if you can
@dmlang157 жыл бұрын
Running stairs. A good double stair, up and down as fast as you can go for 20 minutes. Ran them during practice and at least 20 minutes after. Being too tired to finish has nothing to do with experience or talent but desire. Losing to someone because they are better or more experienced is acceptable. Losing because you ran out of gas is all on your desire. Never finished a match when I couldn't have went out and wrestled another one immediately.

I have tried this so many times, especially with my neck and never once did it work. Either I am doing something terribly wrong or this just doesn’t work.
@WrestlingTournamentsDotCom6 жыл бұрын
Bren Desch You probably need to work on your neck strength (unless you’re a heavy weight, this move doesn’t work well for really heavy wrestlers). Look up some bridging exercises. The bridge is a fundamental movement in wrestling. Good luck.
@tyhatfield71564 жыл бұрын
Bren Desch I think good bridging always does great. But another thing is is when a guy bridges like that instead of having your hand underneath both of them I would’ve grab the one side because if you reach like that with those guys all you need to do is let go of them for second block that with your post arm, and then they stay on their back! I feel that’s how good Pinners like me, and all the pinning because usually they couldn’t bridge :) I think as a smaller person in high school when I took state my senior year at 119! It helped to also have a 22 inch neck :)

@TrevorFrenchFry8 жыл бұрын
Would this work well with heavy weight wrestlers?
@WrestlingTournamentsDotCom8 жыл бұрын
It is still a good drill, but much harder for heavyweights to do. The idea of bridging is the best initial strategy for getting off your back, but your escape may be different when going live against someone who is reacting.
@walkingcorpse12248 жыл бұрын
Lol for me this works on people much smaller than me, but since I am a Heavy Weight Grappler, it didn't work for me against people my weight especially once they have good base going on. It requires a really big explosion, but if you're small it may be better to get double underhooks and slip out (my personal favorite) and take the back or shrimp and go into either full guard or half-guard. But he is right, it's definately a good drill, especially if you're in a smaller weight class. Just keep in mind that the idea is to not let the opponent pin u in the first place lol Stand up if ur guard isn't so good. If he pins u, then right away get to work before he does.
