Well, Not going to deny we do have a racial divide and racial problems here in the states, but, I'm not sure what the solution is... As long as I can remember, these issues have gotten better now compared to 20 years ago when I was younger. If the cops are cool and see you drinking in public, they will just tell you to trash it, if they aren't cool about it, well, then its a citation(ticket) or if they are being assholes, well, then.. .. . yeah it can definitely can get worse if you don't comply.

I believe China is safe because the government managed well , and the safety in your city is because that is a rich area . In China, even poorest area also very safe , because the government won’t allow release hate.what’s I means in short answer: average Chinese are not better than the west , the huge difference is the government. It's not just the management of the government. Chinese people are more introverted and less publicized. If you bring trouble to others, you will feel ashamed. If you know Japan, Japanese culture is influenced by a lot of Chinese culture. In fact, in ancient times, Chinese culture radiated the whole East Asia.

The exact same media BBC/CNN that pushing anti-China propaganda is pushing anti-gun propaganda as well as racial issues and police issues. The same people that try to create a cold war now with China wants to disarm USA. China is a homogenic country (all Chinese) while countries that were created and developed through immigration and colonization are super different Very good example Brazil where they have very strong very strict laws and have about 10 times more homicide than USA. You are absolutely right. I’m in NY. The discrimination and bias here to Chinese is off the hook lately. It’s always been there. After the covid, it’s has gotten worse. It’s incredibly sad to see when westerners visit Asia, they are always greeted with warmth and friendliness, but when Asian visit here in US, they get nothing but racist remarks, discrimination and bias. Its disgusts me this is happening in the so called “ the most advanced country” in the world. I see it as the most “ angry, hateful” country in the world.

I have the same feeling that USA and most of other countries are Far Behind China... They don’t care about politics. The government provides all the facilities and opportunities to the people even most advance countries lack of. The online shopping and payment everywhere is amazing like WeChat and Alipay online payments. I don’t remember when I used cash for the last time, even if I buy vegetables from a small shop. @@keawewong6110 Very true mate. Sometimes I take the sarcasm of racist people saying “go back to China (your country)” into my heart, because China, which is my ancestral country, is now a very great, modern, prosperous country full of vitality and growth! And I think overseas Chinese people should really go back to live in China to experience the prosperity of their home country. I lived in China since when I was 10 years old back in 2012 for 8 years and since being now back in Canada I really miss my second hometown China very much! And oh yes, I’m born and raised in Vancouver, BC, greetings🤝

I am a Chinese from Shanghai, and lived many years overseas. China is a big country, there are modern city and also remote county. China is not paradise everywhere, but far more different of reality than reported by many western press. People work hard to build their life and contribute for this country. Happy to see expat like Jason let outside know more about true face of China. With growth of this nation many country felt anxiety, actually China is a powerful country in history for many centuries, people there are not interested to conquering and killing, if people know more about China, they will not believe news about China made by US or some EU press.

A few years ago, I went to Italy and Portugal in two separate trips. My entire luggage was stolen on the train while traveling from Genoa to Pisa. While in Lisbon, a pickpocket took all my money in my khaki pants pocket as soon as I step into a rather crowded subway train. And in another trip to Stockholm, I got yelled at by a local white guy simply because I was taking picture of little kids in the kindergarten playground. I no longer have any desire to visit any European cities. After my maiden trip to Shanghai and Hangzhou two years ago, I was totally shocked as if I just discovered a completely different planet on Earth! I can't wait to go back to China as soon as the virus is under control! Great video, Jason, thanks so much! Guizhou is unbelievably beautiful! I must go there someday!

Bro, I'm living in the US, and I truly admire your life in China. I miss my hometown and I wish I can just go home someday. This is so true, I cannot get my friends in the US believe what it looks like in China. tbh, people in US mostly they are too arrogant to believe there are places just as good as their country, or even better. But my friends here they are nice and kind, they are not racists. But they just don't know. They haven't been there and they are overwhelmed by the political media, so they are not evening trying to know a little bit more about China. That is such a shame, I was born and raised in the ordinary family, I was taught to be open-minded to any people, any culture, anything, use my eyes to learn the truth rather than taking what you are given. I truly hope at least a small portion of US people would do the same. People in China knows US much more than people in US knows China. The misunderstanding and lacking of information finally cause this ridiculous China hating theory. Hoping it gets better and enjoy your life in China.

I live in the US and you're absolutely right, the priorities are so backwards. Freedom in the US means the freedom to be a selfish asshole to everyone around you, freedom to kill and be killed, freedom to have to worry about crime all the fucking time, freedom to be thrown in prison for a long ass time for minor crimes while rich criminals can do whatever tf they want, freedom to OD on awful drugs that are all over the place, freedom to worry about being homeless all the time, freedom to live in a tent and piss and shit in a bucket, freedom to beg for money, freedom to be made bankrupt due to medical debt. And they all lie to themselves about China, like it's some giant slum with a nice looking pocket they show the global public, everything else is lies, fake buildings, fake happy people. And of course focusing entirely on the worst things about China as if the US hasn't done far worse and as if those negative things impact life for the vast majority of the population in China. I'm not going to get into that discussion but just pointing out how willfully ignorant people are in the US both about how awful the US is but also about how well China is actually doing. I really hope China starts making the US and other western countries look like a joke, maybe will finally pressure them to get their acts together.

When I was much younger I was so attracted by words like freedom and democracy. Then as I travelled through different cites and countries, getting in touch with different people, and I realize that media and politicians make up concepts that normal people can not tell. The only thing I should care about is that my city and my country is getting better to live in. Safe, steady and comfortable enveronment is all I need to build my own life.

Freedom(in the most literal sense, not how the Americans "understand it" - while having the largest incarcerated population on planet) should be desirable by any rational human. But most humans are unfortunately not rational. Their paranoia and desire for absolute safety cloud their mind and in the end don't get much of either.

There is also social responsibility. Some Americans are very good with that, within their country, and outside of their country. But having social responsibility can only go so far in helping within their country, and the rest of the or entire world. When they do it (social responsibility) it is sincere. I don't know what had happened in the past few decades. However, freedom and democracy certainly gets in the way, at least here in America and I would think many other countries as well. There is also selfishness, which is a personal trait, however can feed poor freedom, poor democracy, poor responsibility, etc. Too selfish for the wrong reasons, at the same time too selfless for the wrong reasons. Humans are an enigma. And are misguided. America having been "so free" and "wealthy" for many decades in the previous century has allowed it to be genuine in the administration of social responsibility. Unfortunately, freedom and democracy are overrated concepts, and most people cannot actually have full/ample freedom, while democracy only works well inside a social group with few members having only minor and temporary dissimilar interests.

Perhaps you need a simple guide: when democracy excessively demonstrates its power, the efficiency of government work will decrease, and various agencies will shift their responsibilities to each other,And the manifestation of democracy is not just electionsIn fact, China has the most complete democratic system in the world. Government officials can go to rural areas to interview the opinions of the masses, and there are also some websites online that can provide suggestions to the government, which are not seen in other countries,So we can make a judgment that a country needs not only democracy, but also the concentration of power. How to combine these two has become a problem that Western countries cannot balance许你需要一个简单的指南:当民主过度展示其权力时,政府工作的效率就会降低,各个机构就会相互推卸责任,而民主的表现不仅仅是选举。

The first time I visited Beijing, more than 20 yrs ago, it was still pretty messy, with children peddling their wares to us tourists at every stop. Public toilets were horrific. China has really progressed and changed in a short period. The last time I visited was to Xiamen about 4 years back. Things are much more orderly and the people are a lot more civic minded. Their government really is doing a fantastic job.

I have travelled and lived in Asia, Africa, Europe, and North America. Lived in France for a few years, yes the weather is fine, there are good historic buildings, and I find the language quite romantic as well. But there is dirtiness, crime, jobless people, people living off social security and not willing to work, riots, alcohol problem, and an overall system that is gradually falling apart. China shows optimism, liveliness, safety and security, people willing to work hard, and infrastructure and technology that provides a glimpse of the future.
