Do you prefer 6 string metal or 7 string metal?
In this video, I'm playing two songs with the full mix. One with a 6 string guitar. And the other, with a 7 string.
The metal songs are a mix of thrash metal and melodic death metal.
Guitars used:
6 String: ESP LTD M-1000 Deluxe
7 String: ESP E-II Horizon FR-7

Just found your channel and subbed. Great playing and seem like a cool guy. I'm searching videos with esp horizon e-2 ..I'm so close to pulling the trigger. Can you tell me how you're liking it so far? I'm stuck between it and several schecter 7 strings. None of the music stores around have anything good to try them out but I've played a few esp and schecters to have an idea..tough decision man.

Cool riffs as always Jason. I believe that's the Metal Machine EZ Drummer pack? Anyway personally I prefer the six string tone. I think your seven string sounds great too, but I just prefer a little more high tuning for my metal.

I love both so much. My head wants to explode. I love the 6 strings higher tuning and tone. But then it shifts into the 7 string with this deep dark sound. Im both man.

Both guitar tones was fantastic ! But if I must to choose I would say 6 string , it got my ear attention more.

I much prefer the tonal low chunk as it adds variety. I think the 7 string added range benefits the song! Thanks Jason. Watching the whole 7 string playlist as I got an new Ibanez 7 string. Question: Do you like fanned fret guitars?

It's hard to choose. I really liked both tones. But I think it's 6 for me. Just feels more defined and seems to cut threw the mix better. But I still look forward to hearing more 7 string playing just because I simply find 7 stings interesting.

For this mix I like the 6 string better,maybe because it's similar to the music I grew up on (80's thrash) and it sounds Slayer'ish to my ear.

Both were great but I think the 7 string sounded way heavier. Now a days a lot of metal bands are dropping their 6 strings down to B standard or lower anyway. Basically gotta set the guitar up just for that. Might as well just get the extra string and keep the high range. Plus you don't need to completely change your setup to go back to the classics.

7 has a more raunchy sound. I just got a 7 string with a floyd rose and I'm very happy

Growing up hearing alot of music that was tuned lower, 7 helped when you could not constantly change tunings on the fly with a 6.

I liked them both in different ways. The 6 String had more of an old school metal vibe.. kinda Megadethy tone. The 7 String is denser, more growly melodeth. Haha, see what I did there? They cover a slightly different dynamic spectrum. I’d like to hear one track of each in a mix to see how they blend. Good song too.

I have played acustic guitar always , I didn't have the money to purchase an electric , so this year I will buy a electric should I buy a 7 string or a 6 string . I m mainly into music which uses 7 string like technical death metal, progressive metal
