I first heard of Jasper Carrot, when a series was shown on tv. It featured, Dave Allen, Mike Harding and Jasper Carrot. I had just got a cassette tape recorder, about the size of a medium sized book. I taped them with a hand held microphone but Jasper made me laugh so hard i kicked the small portable electric (fire hazard) fire. You can hear it all on the tape as i still have it and it still makes me laugh out loud. Extremely funny, but never blue.

I have a cassette recording that i taped from the tv in the 1970s, including the rattle from when i kicked the fire from laughing so much, including the 'Mole' sketch. I still have it, so funny then, so funny now.

I enjoy humour in most forms, but the 'modern' comedians are going towards the shock factor primarily......you can't beat the innuendo and thought provoking skill of the likes of Jasper.....

I actually had a cat like Lollipop. She was completely insane. She'd attack the neighbours dogs, they were terrified of her. My sister is convinced that she's trying to drag a dead cow down the hill

No way the BBC would even make *credits* for a comedy show like this now never mind the comedy. Look at it and you know I'm right. Make it now, 2 seconds into the opening the tick boxes would start to be *furiously* ticked, and after the last dying frame of the final interracial LGBTXYZ+ couple faded and it cut to the stage and everyone waited to be entertained, their hearts would sink as Nish Kumar walked on to openly sneer hate at most of the viewers..

Jasper continued to be popular with his comedy right up until the early 2000s, but times change, comedy changes, style changes and he then moved into presenting a daytime quiz show Goldenballs for ITV from 2007 until 2009, and he then went into retirement.

Comedy isn’t like this any more it’s mostly foul mouthed people takin the pi## out of the audience I’m a bit bored with it now you can’t beat a good story telling comedian. Anyone know what year this was on the TV?
