In Indian classical music, especially in the Carnatic tradition, the term "Jatiswaram" typically refers to a type of musical composition structured with specific rhythmic patterns called "jatis." Jatiswarams are primarily instrumental pieces used for rhythmic and technical exercises in performances, particularly in Bharatanatyam dance recitals. Unlike kritis or other compositions, Jatiswarams are often not attributed to specific composers. Instead, they are composed following traditional rhythmic patterns and melodic frameworks. However, some Jatiswarams might have been composed by notable musicians in the past, but the authorship is not always clearly documented or attributed. If you have a specific Jatiswaram in mind, providing its name might help in identifying any known composer associated with it. Otherwise, it's generally understood that many Jatiswarams are part of the traditional repertoire passed down through generations without clear attribution to individual composers.
