Minecraft: Java Edition (formerly just Minecraft) is the original version of Minecraft, developed by Mojang Studios for Windows, macOS, and Linux. Notch began development on May 10, 2009, publicly releasing Minecraft on May 17, 2009. The full release of the game (version 1.0.0) was on November 18, 2011, at MINECON 2011.
Bedrock Edition (officially subtitle-less; also known as the Bedrock editions, Bedrock versions, or just Bedrock) refers to the multi-platform versions of Minecraft developed by Mojang Studios, Xbox Game Studios, and SkyBox Labs and based on the Bedrock codebase. The latest Bedrock Edition version is 1.18.2.

Villagers are a mess in bedrock. They will claim workstations and beds even if pathfinding does not allow it while Java villagers do not. It's especially annoying when making a free-range village, and you keep seeing green sparkles and thunder cloud icons on your beds and barrels

As a bedrock player, id honestly prefer Java, but only because of its modding capabilities, bedrock can only do so much, but with Java you’re able to run so many different mods and texture packs and not have to worry about your game crashing (to a certain extent) plus they have shaders too.

Both versions have aspects that are better on one than on the other (I personaly prefer bedrock) If they mixer both versions with the aspects from bedrock that are better than java and the aspects from java that are better than bedrock it would make Minecraft even better

Yeah But some of them cant get good to not anger a part of comunity Lets say redstone Bedrock redstone is much different than java one and if java redstone was coded to bedrock those bedrock redstoners would get angry so they need to keep both redstones separated to not anger comunity But i still dont see why there are no shield banners or scpectar arrows or better maps They dont exsist on bedrock so could be implemented without problem

don't quote me on this because I don't remember the sources, but I read somewhere that it was because mojang wanted them to feel like their own thing, and not just a port of eachother. they wanted both versions to have little differences that distinguished the two

(and yes I know Java looks cool with its graphics and shaders but Bedrock has more features from its clear water, waterlogged blocks, redstone components working under water, dropped items effecting bells, to Its ability to dye shulker shells, not needing to carve pumpkins to make helpers, needing less dye, and using potions efficiently when making arrows.) correction about the iron golem, you can repair an iron golem and there are cracks when the golem takes enough damage, I've play bedrock for years I would know.

I don't think trapdoor putting you in crawl motion actually a disadvantage in bedrock, if you have water bucket you can go in crawling motion even in bedrock, But yeah I know for some player it's pretty painful not to carry a trapdoor always they want to go in crawl motion

I switched to Java after playing Bedrock for about a year. Never want to go back. I like how smooth Bedrock runs compared to Java and it has some other nice features. But overall, as someone who is more into the technical, redstony side of minecraft, and also like mods, Java just wins for me.

Not gonna lie, if they just fixed the Redstone ticks for pistons and stuff that have that issues, and just the minor stuff, Bedrock would probably be better because of the added bonus of easy to play with friends. That's just me tho, ima still stick to Java lol

I'm really confused with those two versions, how do you get Bedrock on its own ? I already have Java that I bought years ago when Bedrock wasn't a thing, but when I try to look up Bedrock only, all I can see is a bundle of both versions.

because bedrock on pc used to be only Minecraft Windows 10 Edition. Later they decided to make it so that android, iOS, playstation, Xbox, Nintendo and windows 10 would all have the EXACT SAME GAME with not a single difference. That version is Minecraft bedrock which is mostly based on the android version of Minecraft. On PC, it was still windows 10 and java for a bit but now it's just bedrock and java together and they even gave copies of the game to people who had java only or bedrock only since the only real reason Mojang still supports java is it's popularity and its mods shaders and servers.

There are some feutures i didint know about minecraft bedrock and ive been ALWAYS WONDERING about how to dye leather armomr and finally i know how turns out i was able to do it all the time, so as the iron golem it cracks and gets healed didint know that and last butbnot least the bell, i just realize i can shoot a bow at it to warn the villagers when it night YAY NO MORE RINNING TO DING IT or takeing it home... btw nice vid i learned some thing about minecraft bedrock

All of the mobs are harder in bedrock. you guys have it easy, but Im not complaining I love that we have to fight to make it, it makes it that much more rewarding when we win and or finish something grand. plus we can make cool designs with wall blocks and buttons.

as a old bedrock play I would say that java is better because of the farms in bedrock any farm is hard to build and it dosen't produce that much.

The biggest difference is that java edition use logic more thats why it is best while bedrock only focus on enjoyment to know how check my comments section

2:52 when you break a block with snow on it in real life also snow also get destroyed 4:14 if you are standing on cactus you get damage but if you put some clothes on it from where you get damage 4:43 for this only one explanation this flint and steel is from next level universe

if you don't want modding, a lot more game setting customization, and overall better performance in the game, no glitches, no chunks not loading problem, then i would say bedrock is better but on java it's a lot better because of the modding and things

Java: making effect arrows when crafted with potion (hard, but makes sense) Bedrock: dip arrow in paint (ez af)
