Arrays are an essential part of JavaScript. If you want to get better at JavaScript, you have to know how to effectively use arrays, especially the built-in array methods like map, reduce, filter, sort, every, some, etc. In this series, we'll cover the JavaScript array methods you need to know to become a web developer.
Learn to use the Map() function to transform items in an array.

Dude your explanation was so mindblowing...im Brazilian so i get most of my classes in portuguese but everytime i dont understand a concept i get some english classes and they are SO MUCH better to explain my doubts. Dont know if is a limitation of my language or if my teachers suck so much ass to explain.

I'm undertaking a bootcamp right now and this refresher is really nice. I forgot you can use an implicit return for anoymous functions. I'll definitely make use of that. And yes, folks; Array methods are crucial, especially map when making tables and filtering data. And it isn't even just Javascript but Python as well(which I started coding before going to Javascript.). Good work.

Great video! I have one question...how does it not return undefined when the arguments being used are 'character' instead of 'characters' which is the name of the initial array? when i wrote this code out it didn't work unless the argument was the same name as the array.

Hi man, thanks for this explanation video and I just followed your code but when the last part to get all the first name (characters) => characters.name.split(" "[0]); it returns to me an array but with 2 elements inside it like this: 0: (2) ['Luke', 'Skywalker'] 1: (2) ['Darth', 'Vader'] 2: (2) ['Leia', 'Organa'] 3: (2) ['Anakin', 'Skywalker'] but when I change it to characters.name.split( " ", 1); it works and the result with all the first name with 1 element inside the array. maybe you can give me a little hint how is that happen, and any help would be appreciate. Thank you very much :D
