They have NOT completed their education. So, that's a BIG LIE! Second, he says that the new gen tells him --- 'You know what I mean?" - Let me just add that the character of Prem Chopra in 'Duniya' (80s) revenge film has a takiya qalaam saying "Yaani ke aap samajh rahe hain na, main kya keh raha hoon" -- which is exactly the same as 'You know what I mean'! Javed is a crafty fella who FEEDS on people's lack of deep knowledge, and flips it around as if it were the truth! He's copied most his movies from other films, just conceals the source! And that, my friends, what he lives on! BTW, in one interview he's said that Rajesh Khanna in 70s was like 'the God'. Now, ask him which God was that, when he's constanlty hammering his own atheism?!?!🤔

Agree with you … to some extent .. As it’s like A ‘Cat & Mouse’ situation .. A Sort of ‘Catch 22’ Situation perhaps .. Where often the Life often Imitates Movie & Movie Imitates Life’ So we can’t really or completely Say Movies have influenced Language ‘ or Society. It was as Javed Saab was saying , depended on How much the Movie Maker is Intelligent enough, or Cultured enough , to make the Movie , Adaptable , and Acceptable , by the ‘Then Generation’ 🙂

In the 50's, 60's and 70's, we had many movies, songs with very high artistic values and aesthetic standard, they were made for people with very refined taste in art and literature..80's was the era of decline in standerd, 90's witnessed many cheap, vulgar, double meaning songs..

Kantara is not movie .. it is radio commentry ... constant action and dialogue ... no "thahraoh"... couldn't finish. Not seen RRR or Bahubali. Saw Pushpa ... it is no match for Sholay. Only plus was Rashmika! And the same me watched spell bound an old Tamil movie (without understanding the language and no subtitle) where Kamal Hasan was serial killer who married Sridevi. Then another Rajni-Kamal movie where Rajni is village thief.

Aesthetics doesn't only mean looks.. It reflects way of lifestyle, thinking, kind of books you read.. Obviously there are many gujjar, haryanvi etc who could only amass wealth but had no wisdom whatsoever.. They will leave the earth truly empty handed.. People who travel, read books, admire poetry takes something with them.. This is why some people are born artists or creative.. Wealth can't be taken away but wisdom can even with death

You completely missed what he beautifully put together about Middle class of 60s and 70s vs 80s.. Also Saints never had to write or compromise to sell tickets. Critical thinking is important before criticizing!!

Most of our saints were unlettered but they created great literature...but film making was a different business...most writers, lyricists, directors, actors come from middle class families ,as long as the Indian middle class had good taste in literature and art, the standerd of aesthetic was very high in our movies...
