Trains Split The Buildings In Eaton Ohio, CSX & Norfolk Southern Trains With DPUs & Oldest, Rarest Covered Bridge In Ohio! A red caboose and old train stations in Eaton Ohio are included. Huge auto racks train with DPU in Hamilton Ohio is a bonus. Check out the railroad crossing in Eaton with houses right next to the track and a restaurant. This is a great place to film trains. The covered bridge is just a couple blocks to the west of the tracks. This is a rare double barrel covered bridge and the oldest one in Ohio. We see inside of it and check out an ancient 1887 automobile bridge that is right next to it. This is my first visit to Eaton. This line is busy but it took me quite a few hours to get two trains here. Trains will usually run a few in one direction and then after a quiet time there will be a few in the other direction. One of my tires nearly went flat while waiting for a train. On my way home I stopped in Hamilton, Ohio and got a huge CSX auto racks heading south toward Queensgate Yard in Cincinnati. Best frequencies in Eaton are 160.440 and 452.9375.
Filmed in 1080 on September 2, 2022

The building at :45 is the former US army national guard building, closed several years ago. If you look closely in the corner of the lot near the two sidewalks you see concrete. For decades a US army M4A1 Sherman tank sat here. Then the state took the tank away and the people of EATON DEMANDED that the state return it's tank. A couple years ago it returned but it is located nearby at the Ft. St. Clair battle site. All painted up in new green paint.

Thank you for going to Eaton, Ohio to document the two trains that you saw at Easton, Jaw Tooth! That covered bridge was a great historical item. The information on one of the historical markers indicated that the bridge was moved from another location. When I saw the concrete foundation under the bridge, I thought that the concrete looked like it was put up recently. If this was the original site for the bridge, I was thinking that the foundation should have been cut stone pieces rather than concrete. The auto rack train that you caught in Hamilton, Ohio was an exceptionally long train. It is a good thing that the auto racks were empty otherwise the train might have stalled with just two engines on the train.

Nice catch of the 2 NS trains and the CSX train! I like that old Caboose sitting there and has been maintained nicely over the years. The 2nd ns train went by a few house's I'd like to be living in. The one with the porch would be perfect! The CSX train with the AUTORACKS was quite a consist to not have a DPU! Thanks again JT for some great footage!

That narrow building in Eaton does look cute and very reminiscent of the old SOO Line passing through Oshkosh on track now removed. Eaton has some neat buildings inc the depot and caboose restoration along with the 18 29 Lego wooden Bridge plus the old Armory building. Some of those FTTX auto frame flats have hit the big 50 and now have their FRA age waiver "R" sticker. JT knows how to bring those Cincinnati never ending circular trains to the photo spot. Plenty of variety and another good tape with the small town feel

Seems that any train with a single lead engine is likely to have a DPU somewhere if it's any length at all :) I see all these articulated trainsets and I see they have 3-car and 5-car sets and I think I haven't seen any even-numbered sets like 2-cars or 4-cars - interesting. A very cool covered bridge and I am glad they didn't open the spillway while you were standing there :) That was one long empty autorack - wow!

109 on that first train. 89 on that second train. That covered bridge is really cool. The truss type is Burr Arch Truss. It is 79 feet long, and is not in its original location. It was damaged by arson in 1986, and moved and restored in 1991. We only have one covered bridge left, here in NJ. It's up in Hunterdon County. I think it was built about 1859. But it sits on the superstructure of a modern bridge, so the trusses/arches aren't actually doing anything. But it is still used for vehicular traffic. Oh wow, an iron truss bridge too. How cool. I love old bridges. I got around 140 or so on that last train. When I was up to the 120's I dozed off for a few seconds or more, and lost my count. 😆 So I added like 14 and resumed counting.

@@JawTooth There is only so much you can do when filming with the trains going by so fast. You never know what colorful "artwork" is coming your way. You do a FINE job with all your videos that are always so educational, esp. since I live in the Southwest and am less familiar with trains back East. Your locations to film are quite interesting to view trains, esp. the ones out in the country. And I always enjoy your videos of your beloved pets and the slide shows. Keep up the fine work, my friend!
