As a former Kevin Smith fan, I think he finally did it, he hit rock bottom with this movie. Everything he did after Clerks 2 was shit, but this...this is it, it cant get worse than this.

The trailer for this movie was so God awful. I'll tell you what happened to Smith, he got old, rich, and political. The un-holy trinity of bad characteristics for an artist.

if they decide to make clerks 3 you should make a road-trip movie where you go and stop it from being made.

I'd rather watch a 2 hour movie of Mike Matei dressed as Bugs Bunny, reviewing another Elmo movie than watch this.

Kevin Smith has the same problem as Adam Sandler where his style of humor just doesn't age well when its used in newer movies.

I heard from my friend that the Jay and Silent Bob Reboot was supposed to be a parody of reboot movies and even in that sense, based on how it's described it sounds like is still an abortion of a concept.

The worst part is that he has to put his obnoxious daughter in every movie now. His stuff has really gone downhill. It makes sense that his movies aren't the same, he's at a far different place in his life than when he started and he's not a young guy anymore. Not really sure what he should try at this point since a lot of his later stuff isn't any good, but revisiting old characters isn't a good idea given the results. At this point, I don't want Clerks to come back.

I think one of the biggest letdowns for me was how the caliber of special guest cameos was much lower in the reboot. The original had Carrie Fisher, George Carlin, Mark Hamill, Chris Rock, Will Ferrell, and a bunch of others. Even if you didn't like a few of them, chances are that there were at least 3 that were enjoyable. Plus, they were mostly used in actually funny ways. What did the reboot have? Fred Armisen, Craig Robinson, Chris Hemsworth, and Chris Jericho, who's a funny and entertaining guy, and he's used as a KKK grand wizard? My biggest issue with the reboot's cameos is they didn't even get anyone to play a rebooted Cocknocker. Reboot was way too over-the top with how frequently it breaks the fourth wall, and it wasn't nearly as funny as the breaks in Strike Back (which had ones like Hey Kids! It's Mark Hamill! and the Scooby-Doo parody). The only one I liked in Reboot was the Clerks reunion. I also really don't like Harley Quinn Smith. I don't think she's funny, I don't think she's endearing, I don't think her character has an interesting personality, motivations or arc, and I don't like that she gets so many roles because of her dad's nepotism.

Dogma was good. I think Kevin Smith is good at directing other people’s writing. He hasn’t written anything good in many years himself though. He needs to stop. I like him. I don’t want him to continue making crap though. He lets his bad actor friends do movies and adds in a good actor friend to hang out here and there. The writing is so bad lately though that no one can make it good.

This movie I guess felt like Joe Dirt 2 one of the worst sequels ever made that they made it free on crackle like 5 years ago

Smith had a reading of his Clerks 3 script in Red Bank some time ago. I was there. It was THE most awful thing I ever listened to. It made Reboot look genius. He has a new script for Clerks 3, but I have pretty much lost faith that Smith can do anything worthwhile anymore.

If it hasn't been said already, Silent Bob was aping Alec Baldwin's memorable speech from Glengarry Glen Ross. It was kind of amusing for me to see Smith have fun with a speech that every fan of that movie has memorized and has imagined themselves performing. But really, it didn't work and was just lazy, like most of the film.

I just tried to watch it, couldn't make it through the first half hour. My wife and I shut it off. Everything you said was ABSOLUTELY TRUE!

Pretty sure the whole eggplant emoji was to reference Louis c.k. jacking it in front of hall and oats actress that was at the Moobies. Also the asian girl was dressed like Scarlett Johansson playing Black Widow which let Kevin talk about russia and them hacking elections.

I'm kind of like you. I tend to like most of Kevin Smith's movies instead of love them. That said, I love Dogma.

The reason for the girl in black spandex is cuz the bad guys of the 1st jay and silent bob movie were the 4 chicks who robs the diamonds wearing spandex & in this reboot (witch is just beat by beat the first movie with culture and diversity in it like Broadie says at the beginning of the movie) the bad guy of the movie does the same thing...they hold the director hostage by gunpoint and fight amongst themselves. Silent bob was thrown outta the convention and found that iron man suit at the junkyard next door then he bust in to fight all the cocknockers crew.....Is it funny tho? ;/ For me it was just nice to get some addemus to some of my favorite movies like dogma and chasing amy. Chasing Amy is all about learning to be a cuck and thats proven when Holden (ben affack) says that he just gave his sperm to Alyssa and he raises there daughter Amy (who is Jay's daughter IRL) with Alyssa's girlfriend. I am a big fan of Kevin Smith, one of those cult followers i guess. So yes even though he has been making shit movies for a while i was hoping for a real piece of gold to come out at some point. Was hoping this would be it, and i could have forgave the lazy writing or the lack of actual nostalgia in trade for corny winks to the camera, cause im a fan. Yet when i finally got fed up and said Im done is when this movie was clearly hijacked by some sort of "wokeness" political agenda that becomes clear about halfway through. From that moment forward is was like watching the reboot of Charlies Angels all over again. A constant bashing of men, even the main characters are these horrible examples of men, and little girls made to be all powerful and all knowing in all situations. If you want some woke in a movie then put it in there, don't make the entire movie about bashing men and shoving your politics down my throat. I love diversity in movies, it makes them great, but when it is forced so damn hard you just fk up a good movie to push an agenda.

Totally agree, this movie is straight up garbage but I totally disagree on Mallrats, I think everything about that movie works from the bright colors, to the mall setting, to the romantic comedy aspect and it’s arguably his most iconic movie next to clerks, I love it and never understood the dislike for mallrats, personally I feel that way towards Chasing Amy, that movies way more boring. Just my 2 cents lol

If they do a Clerks 3, Kevin Smith is dead to me. Clerks 1 and 2 are some of my favorite comedies of all time, Clerks being just one of my favorite movies. Didn't even bother with the Jay and Silent Bob reboot, already knew it was gonna be a hot turd from the get-go and Silent Rob just confirms that assumption.

Ok, a couple things to mention if you make a part 2, the one random ass scene with Matt Damon in a church, the random hard on for Power Rangers references and the hallucination scenes.

First off, I enjoyed the video! Glad to see you back my dude. You more than likely already know this but Jeff Anderson actually didn't want to do Clerks 2 either. He was strongly against it but then came around. I've been in a Kevin Smith mood lately so I've heard him speak on podcasts a bunch and he's straight up admitted that he just does the films he wants to do now. Before, he did that AND made sure they were not only good but profitable. Personally, I liked Tusk. It's insane but if Human Centipede can get a pass I see no reason why Tusk can't. Haven't seen Red State, heard it's underrated but idk. Smith said Yoga Hosers was directed to a specific audience also. He just does straight up whatever which I dig but at the same time if Jay & Bob 2 doesn't make sense then why bother? I have high hopes for Clerks...it's supposed to revolve heavily around Randall so that might be it's saving grace. Mallrats...eh, I can do without...that's coming from someone who likes the first one. I guess Smith is hit or miss nowadays...sounding more like a miss.

Kevin Smith hasn’t really made a good movie in a decade, I liked the first two Clerks movies. Kevin Smith should just retire, he stopped being original with his later films.

Those glory days of the 90's, and early 2,000's are OVER. I don't watch any current movies. When "entertainers" age, sometimes they lose their way, and can no longer relate to the audience they want to reach. Kevin is a great example. Rob however, understands this, and continues to try to listen to his audience. Keep up the good work, and continue to call out these hacks, that create/direct/release garbage.

No feature-length film can give a worse headache than Tim & Eric’s Billion Dollar Movie. Nothing about that film is legitimately funny for anyone and even by Tim and Eric’s tradition for post/meta-ironic humor standards (which I admit to admire sometimes) the movie did not deserve to exist.

Kevin Smith has really lost his way in almost every way. He is just cringeworthy to me these days. His bonering over star wars.....nah. I took one look at the poster art and was like yea nope. This coming from a guy who loved Clerks and Clerks 2 to death.

Was watching mallrats and seeing how the plot barely resolved itself. Main character wants to date lady but her dad says no and she's too devoted to him. They marry in the end after he gets her dad fired cuz that's how plot progression works I guess. Also Brody is ten times more obnoxious than Randal ever was and no offense to Jason Lee, but his over exaggerated gestures did not make Brody any more likable. Had to look up what his name was cuz despite Kevin Smith's movies being a shared universe thing, he casts the same actors for five different roles each

Clerks and chasing Amy are my favorite films of his. Clerks 2 is pretty good as well.

Kevin Smith seems genuinely lost. He was never that good. His direction of humor is so clunky that it always comes off like a student film. He just keeps doing the same thing over and over again and when he tries something "different," he pinches off garbage like Tusk or Yoga Hosers.

Jay calling the ride share driver “ Mercan” . Which I didn’t know what the term meant. Then they brought the ride share driver back to explain what the insult meant. Plus Jay didn’t look just old. He looked pretty much methed up.

I don’t ever intend on watching this movie like I do Jay and cub strike pack as one of the jokes that really pissed me off in this movie is where they steal some guy credit card card number to pay for a taxi or Uber service to get from New Jersey to California and that’s identity theft.

I didn't even laugh once in this entire movie. I regret buying this shit shingle for $20 on blu-ray. Kevin Smith just needs to retire already, honestly. Though I will say, the case does make a pretty good coaster.

The only films I like from Kevin Smith really is Clerks, Clerks 2, and Dogma. Otherwise the man filmography is hit and miss with most of them leaning towards the latter.
