Massive power outage last weekend and Jay Peak complimented all Saturday guests with 1 snow check. Another reason why I always go there, plus Canadian money at par is a bonus.

Ha - 19 glades that are listed. This is by far the best mountain to ski in the north east.

Sooo you saying jay peak is better than Stowe!?!?
@AdventureLife365

It ranked better than Stowe after visiting both places. I liked Stowe, don’t get me wrong.. but those lift ticket prices are crazy expensive! And if I had to plan a trip to one or the other, I’d pick Jay Peak 🏔️ for more powder runs ❄️❄️❄️

@@AdventureLife365 I get you. Just came back from Stowe.. $189 for a day trip😬 but the conditions were really good

@daveyfgn I’m glad the conditions were good! It’s definitely a HUGE mountain to explore and I loved riding there. Honestly that price is the only thing that held Stowe’s rating back.. it’s still an awesome mountain to visit if you don’t mind spending the 💰

the main draw to stowe is the terrain that isnt in the resort. jay gets more snow and has comparable terrain inbounds

I can see that.. if they’d just drop those lift ticket prices some I’d love to go riding there again 😅

My problem with Jay is this; Jay Peak claims to have received 270" of snow this year. That is over 22 ft. Just watched a video of someone skiing there yesterday 3/15. And there is no way they received over 22 feet of snow this winter. Even thought there have been warm spells, there'd still be at least 8 - 10 feet of natural snow on the runs considering melt-off. But there were considerable bare spots showing. Also considering that two close resorts, Sutton in Quebec (about 10 miles due north) and Burke in Vt (20 miles southeast) each report about 150 inches, someone (Jay) ain't telling the truth. And please don't attempt to make the "cloud" argument that Jay uses. That is total BS.

I don’t know much about their claims of snowfall and actual numbers.. but when I visited Jay Peak last March it was AMAZING! Definitely one of my favorite places to ride so far

I think the problem is that Jay has issues with holding the snow on the open runs because it gets so much wind which blows it into the trees. I am looking for recent videos of Jay and will look for the one you reference. I'm going on Sunday and am really hoping it will be as good as the recent weather would indicate it will be.

@berkshirebikeandboard6020 I hope it’s good for you when you visit! If the wind blows all the snow into the trees, then I’d just ride the glades 🌲. There’s so many tree runs to explore

@@berkshirebikeandboard6020 They have received some natural snow recently, so I'm sure the conditions will be very good. But again, if you go out into the woods, see if there is over 10 ft on the ground. If they received the 22+ feet they claim, plus with snow blowing in the trees, and protected from the sun, there should be quite a bit of a base in the trees even though there have been warm and rainy spells, snow protected from direct sun is extremely resilient.
