Shetty, who was born in London, claims to have spent his school vacations living with monks in India and later serving as a monk himself for three years. He’s good looking and has a light upbeat vibe. That sells. He indeed doesn’t say anything new or any deep, which is why I have personally never been a follower, and could never watch a full video. His meditations are nice tho. I did a couple during the pandemic. Lying about having been a monk is what ultimately sold his brand tho, and if he did do that well… it’s between him and his conscience.

I’m not sure of the accuracy of his background but I couldn’t care any less. He’s made spiritual practices and life lessons very simple to follow and anyone who’s heard him speak or listened to his podcasts knows the depth he carries. How does it matter if he spent 3 years as a monk or 1 year as long he learned something which he’s translating into wisdom for the world. Some losers have nothing better to do but criticise everyone and spread unnecessary negativity. As long as he hasn’t harmed anyone, I don’t care of his degree or background. If he’s cheated students with promise of some degree or certification from his course, that’s a separate story and stick only to that to expose but don’t question the whole person and the impact he’s had on millions.

We all say so many things in our daily lives based on our learning and experiences without realising or acknowledging the source. He’s simplifying the spiritual knowledge for a common man to understand. Pls look up a coach named SriKumar Rao. He’s low-key but does exactly the same thing … we can have our perspectives and as I said, if he’s done something wrong, that should be exposed but let’s not undermine the good things he’s done and is still doing … focus on identifying the problem rather than painting with a broad brush.

His whole entire shtick is based on the falsehood that he is/was a monk, and that he is spiritual. It's been fact checked that he plagarized many of his earlier quotes on spiritualism, that he falsified his studies as a monk, that he falsified his studies on behavioral science which he hadn't at all, that he claimed his school which he charges thousands for is not actually accredited by any of the legitimates schools he claimed to be associated with. These are all facts. Yeah, it does matter. ie. he's not very spiritual himself at all. It's all a ruse.

Anyone can “allege” anything and the alleged will have to defend himself to millions who just envy success and money. He always said he “was” a monk and is now an “urban monk”. His talks are valuable to all of us who cannot leave our lives to become a monk, but can live a life of wisdom. Just because he interviews celebrities and lives a good life, doesn’t make him a liar and plagiariser. Problem with the people writing negative comments here is - you want money and success, but someone who teaches you wisdom, you want him to be poor. Such hypocrisy!

I'm a doctor with a fake degree, I gave the same tablets to two patients with the same disease. The first one survived because their immunity was better the second one was someone close to you know who died because the tablet was fake anyways. If a liar influences many, it must be good, because he’s famous. This is why I can it the Modernism Popularity Cult. Iskcon has deeply authentic roots, but it has been converted into a popularity cult and distorted, by the people who have taken influential positions in the organisation. They murdered, ostracised or somehow kicked out their dissenters and for the last 50 years, have accumulated followers, using the bate on their hook of Sri Krsna’s authentic teachings, to hook people into their cult of how they interpret it, so that they get control and obedience from their followers. Nothing new… they just dressed up the same materialistic model in Krsna-dress and sanskrita terminology. Guru is, by definition, never a position in an administration or awarded by an administration. So this Jay Shitty, as I affectionately call him, has a Guru in this iskcon corporation, named Radhanath Swami, who is a rubber stamped Guru. You can see he is doing just as his Guru does.
