I thankfully grew up listening to the greats, and have huge respect for black musicians and singers. Such a big part of my childhood listening and dancing to Tina Turner with my mom who has passed. I also think that black people have been treated unfairly by the Grammys, but he should have gone about it differently.

He couldn't say that but that's what he was thinking. Black men are often overlooked but it's even worse when it comes to black women. Only 3 black women in history have won AOTY at the Grammys and only 1 black actress has ever won Best Actress at the Oscar's. These award shows do not think that black women are worthy of the top award bottom line. They will only allow us to win supporting awards or subcategories but reserve the top awards for males or white people. Jay-Z speaking up for his wife should be a springboard for a deeper conversation about the devaluing of black women in general, in Hollywood and society.

Yes, Beyoncé’s albums are good and it charts; however, Beyoncé steals from other artists/people to make her album good. I stand with the Grammys for consistency giving Taylor swift her props because Taylor does everything on her own with original sounds when it comes to all her music. She writes, produces, sings, makes the melodies, etc. This is how I see the Grammys look at it all; The entire creativity of the album. Black people should learn to not allow their feelings/opinions to get in the way of their money. To be honest, besides God (our Jehovah) we still need those white corporate Americans to survive.
