A dope blessing this morning. A dream come true really. I have always seen the artistry and literature in hip hop. In college, many of us deeply felt it's absence and brought it into the artistic spaces of academia. They didn't teach it in poetry but we wrote lyrics and performed them. They didn't teach us to appreciate the double and triple entendres or to study the artist themselves to better appreciate there work. We did it anyway. I took my daughter to DC and I was moved to tears to see pictures of hip hop artists in the Smithsonian Portrait Gallery. It feels so dope to witness this evolution in my lifetime.

I’ve been a fan of jayz for about 15 years now and I appreciate the evolved jayz just as much. I love how he hand picks and curates his vocabulary with the beats. In a way he did yes, but he also gave a lot back in the form of memorable experience. It isn't a "harvest" as I've it called but a transaction. Granted I don't have personal experience of Jay-Z so I can't speak purely for him, but I do of Marina Abramovic who inspired and helped with this piece. I attended a piece of hers about a month ago, and people say the same of her, that she absorbs or harvests energy. Now I don't completely dismiss that, I'm into the occult and esoterica myself and certainly believe that energy can be taken and transmitted in these manners. However I left Marina's piece feeling the exact opposite of drained, I felt energetically charged and more driven and motivated than I had been in a while to better myself as well as just generally happy in the moment. I'm sure Marina recieved a potant dose of energy from the crowd including myself, but she sure as hell returned a lot too, it's transactional to me, not predatory.

I've been to many Jay Z concerts over the years, this by far was the best vibe! The young lady that messed up his flow was amazing, she was art along with everybody there. 👀 MICHAEL K. WILLIAMS was in the room! Miss you King may you rest in peace and love!❤💞

@@youreacrackhead8887 Because it’s NOT new it came out in 2013 on his “Magna Carta Holy Grail” album! Have you not noticed he’s been dropping a lot of old videos on his channel lately? Plus somebody in the comments was saying RIP to some people in the video because it’s been out long enough for that to have happened sooo…ya might not want to go around callin people Crackheads and think a lil more man before you come like that all loud and wrong ijs 😂 I don’t think that album did that well so it’s good he’s dropping some old videos because I definitely missed this one (plus more missed it I’m sure) and it’s a gem that got slept on 💯
