@@dytona1223 Swordmasters have roughly half the normal attack, and both instances of damage are reduced by DEF (So a 400 atk swordmaster on a 100 def enemy deals 300x2) because their trait explicitly says they attack twice, while Gravel and Beehunter have their animation and actual hitcount divided into two instances of damage, but it's actually one attack. So a 800 atk gravel on a 100 def enemy deals (800-100)/2 = 350x2 damage, despite only attacking once. They're weird like that due to their animations.

Beehunter is the same yes I've known about it for a long time Noticed on h6-4 long ago and in testing it's possible to retreat gravel between the hits so she only does half her damage How it works is Unlike dualstrike guards damage is split after DEF calculation so 500 ATK - 200 DEF = 300 ATK /2 attacks 2 attacks of 150 damage So it's just for animation purposes but it matters in this event

@@DrSilvergun Gravel and swordmaster guards don't function the same way. If swordmasters worked like Gravel, their branch would be literally worthless. Swordmaster guards hit twice, with each hit being a full and independent attack calculation. However, since they're only actually attacking once, they only generate one attack worth of effects (for example, offensive recovery skills only generate 1 SP, as the generation is based on the attack, not the hits). Gravel, on the other hand, works as you say. She calculates one attack, and splits the result in half across her two hits. In reality, your math example would be like so: Swordmaster with 500 ATK, attacks enemy with 200 DEF. Each outgoing hit deals 500 damage, reduced by 200, for a result of 300 damage per hit. In total, 600 damage is dealt. Gravel with 500 ATK (she doesn't go this high), attacks the same enemy. Her 500 damage is reduced by 200, for a result of 300 damage. This is then split in half across two hits, each dealing 150 damage, for a total of 300 damage dealt to the target.

Blue Poison is better than Thorns here. Their poison lingers for the same duration, and Thorns is usually better because he has higher damage and higher damage still on ranged enemies. However, Thorns relies heavily on being an ATK/ASPD machine gun, and this event's gimmick effectively makes everyone's damage a flat 1 DPH. Blue Poison, on the other hand, actually hits two targets at once no matter what. Their duration is the same and therefore their damage ticks are the same, but Blue Poison's DPS will be double that of Thorns.

Aosta too The bleed from his passive is DoT and the fact that the stuff that needs x hits to be defeated can't be blocked just makes it perfect for him, bonus is that those enemies that only take arts dmg also take damage from bleed because it's arts dmg Chain casters and ambushers in general are also working quite well in the event

Yes She does the same damage as if it was a single attack so usually it makes no mechanicl diff but it matters in this event

Sorry, always though I knew this, but all of the discussions on it here has got me questioning whether i indeed do. :D

it’s mostly cosmetic. She treats her atk and target’s def as half of what it really is, then hits twice to balance it out.

This stage wouldn't be possible without it The DP isn't that big of a deal but the extra ATK is massive that's generally how it works DP shines in CC maps where jaye is relevant tho

It helps that they have a 50% chance to dodge physical and arts damage

@@VistilShaiteth Oh yeah, that would be a big boost for any rapidly ticking damage, takes a lot of the rng out of some major damage mitigation.

Maybe with a medic or 2, and maybe a bit of extra DPS to make up for the lower damage
