Now he could've been wrong I just took his word for it as he knew what he was talking about when it came to music and I'm kinda tone deaf so I couldn't disprove him (I can make out changes in fast pace music but if you slow it down or play the notes individualy it sounds the same to me probably why I tend to listen to alot of older metal or vocal heavy bands)

Dave Grohl was the demon. He was the drummer for Nirvana and the founder/lead singer of Foo Fighters. The man's a musical genius and has a bunch of guest spots on this album and all kinds of other stuff. I'm still amazed every time I find out some solo I used to love as a kid (drums, guitar, whatever) was actually him and not the band that put out the album. He plays drums on the song "No One Knows" by Queens of the Stone Age. INSANE!

So when the HBO shorts came out in ‘94 (I think there’s 6 episodes) I watched them so much that these songs are BURNED into my memory forever. Back then, they’d gotten a springboard from Mr. Show (another show on HBO) and if you saw those episodes you were kind of in on the ‘gag’. They were real musicians, real comedians and real actors creating a fictional and crazy account of their history: two slackers trying to make it big as a rock band all the whole believing that they are TRULY the best band in the world and everyone else just doesn’t realize it yet. Then JB started making movies but The D never broke up and the music from those shorts was good enough for them to make albums, to tour and to make the story into a movie. ‘The Pick of Destiny’ is a movie version of those first HBO shorts and it’s great but if you watch those 6 original 30-minute shorts, you’ll totally understand what they’re about. Ive seen them live twice and they’re better than most ‘real bands’. If you get the chance, I highly recommend catching a show. 👍🏻
