Heart was told women cannot headline auditoriums. So they said screw you, literally invested every penny they had and financed their own tour. If it failed they would have walked away. They basically paved the way for women to be equal to men in the 70s. And yes, they were so damn beautiful. And proved that they can hang and even out do many acts. In fact, many male bands refused to be on the bill because they were not the headliners and they could blow most bands off the stage. Almost every woman after them said Heart was there major influence.

What I like about you is that you make a distinction between just letting music be a pleasant background (hearing it) and trying to dive into it, absorbing the sound and attending to the meaning of the lyrics (appreciating it). I think too few people now give music the respect it deserves, opening themselves to it and trying to receive everything it has to offer. Huge respect to you for that.

This is their debut album released in 1975/1976 (US). I absolutely loved and still love it. Meant a lot to us young high school girls to have the Wilson sisters to look up to. They are Goddesses. Beautiful inside and out and so talented. From their 2nd studio album, ‘Little Queen’ comes my 3 favorite songs from Heart and probably all 3 on my top 10 list of my favorite songs period. ‘Love Alive’ and my favorite 2 which MUST be played together are ‘Sylvan Song’ and ‘Dream of the Archer’. The first of the 2 is an instrumental leading into the 2nd song (Dream....). Lyrics a must. ☮️💟 Nancy plays electric, acoustic and also plays the mandolin. Ann plays some guitar and the flute.

I think it's a tie between this song and Magic Man for my favorite from these ladies. Heart is so so good! Anne has an unbelievable voice, and Nancy is one of the most underrated guitar players ever.

In the 1970’s you bought a record with no idea how good the entire album was except for the single releases. With Heart there was no guessing. Their album Little Queen had a song “Say Hello” the Song would have been a hit for anyone else but for Ann and Nancy Just another day at the office amazing talent.

The first time I saw them was on MTV. The video was These Dreams. They will forever be the greatest female group.

Nancy Wilson is one of the reasons I started to play guitar. Watch a live video. These ladies still rock 40+ years later.

Yes, the song you were singing at the end is "Barracuda." :)

It definitely has a partially Spanish guitar and blues style intro. I love it.

This song came from the album Dreamboat Annie which came out in 1975. I saw them in concert in the 70's. Nancy Wilson is an amazing guitarist.

Early to mid 1970s. I always think of them as "the female Led Zeppelin". Same fantastic skill and fantastic songs, same ability to move from gentle folk into full-on rock and back again in a split second. Heart performed Led Zep's classic "Stairway to Heaven" when Led Zeppelin were honoured at the Kennedy Center - and it was superb. It brought tears to the eyes and broad smiles to the faces of the surviving members of Led Zep who were present. Hunt down the video - it's a must.

They were really mad about the Dreamboat Annie cover-- said they wanted to be heard and appreciated for their music, not their looks. You KNOW they had a fight on their hands! Really grateful to have finally been able to see them last year with Joan Jett (their predecessor) and Elle King (their descendant) -- the women of rock

These lady's have enormous talent! Great reaction. Try a reaction to Lita Ford or The Runaways/ Joan Jett, she was in the Runaways and went solo. You won't be disappointed 😉
