I think a fair wizard nerf would be to allocate all of his stats to resourcefulness so he cannot move or cast spells but he will be really good at playing bingo and opening postcards from his grandchildren.

This and the few others i play with feel the same. It seems you need top tier game play, top gear, and a grp that plays together 15 hrs a day to have fun. Which in fact for most people isnt fun at all. I hope in the end they can find a place the sweats can play and the casuals can play. Level restrictions i belive may help a little but people just delete toons start a new one after they traded their stash to teamate. Gear restrictions may be an ansewer idk... What i do know is the comment above about giving up isnt fully sarcastic.

Chain Lightning is tricky to use most of the time, but is absolutely NASTY when it can be used. The charge up time when low-geared usually means you miss the opportunities it is useful too. I do think they need to patch out bouncing through walls though, unless a body is stuck under the door or something. That Lightning Rod combo is disgusting with Priests.

Unfortunately it's not actually that much difference. My friend who plays barb told me he gets about 30% magic dmg reduction with the perk. Moderately geared wizard chain lightning is doing like 75-80dmg so the barb would still cop 1/3 of his hp bar

I asked on stream and for spells he had both heals, earthquake, holy strike, and resurrection (he changed prot to holy strike later) and perks are advanced healer, 15 AR perk, protection from evil, perseverance

Chain Lightning is the most infuriating ability in the game. Not Bear Traps, not Stealth, not even 12 sec Haste-Invis on a Barb... It's Chain Lightning. The bouncing off corpses thing is a nice flavour mark for it which I think is okay, but having it go through walls is legit disgusting. Furthermore, the damage should scale off the person being hit by the first strike, so if the target has a lot of resistance to magic, the other targets will take less damage because of it. So a Barb tanking one would protect his team better than a Fighter would, making the fantasy of Fighters being weak to Magic and Barbs being better against it a legitimate one. Furthermore, in addition to that, giving corpses a 100 buff to their magic resistance will make cheating a Chain Lightning off a corpse deal less damage as a drawback to getting to aim it for free on a non-moving target.

You can Chain Lightning friendlies and corpses and still have it bounce to hit enemies. It also goes through walls. So if you use it on a teammate that’s outside a room you know is full of enemies, then you can kill them all without putting yourself in danger.

@@MartinRadio2the protection spell and potion are only for physical damage. The cleric heals himself after every cast of the chain lightning. It doesn't bounce back to Jay because, I think, there are enough other targets.

There is friendly fire damage yes. I'm really not sure what buffs they used, you would have to look at the cleric spell list and passives to figure it out. I suspect the cleric was healing himself after each cast of chain lightning. Another way to do it is to cast on a barbarian that has the +100 magic resist passive@@MartinRadio2

I think it's post nerf, haste/invis just lasts long on jay cause of high will. Turns the 3 second duration to about 5 seconds.

Your an embaressment, just get good, ive never been hit by chain lightning, dont get directly hit by any mage spells, my dodge game is 100% accurate against wizards, so if i can do it, others can too, its just called a bloody skill issue which a lot of players obviously have

Nah, nerf the Ice Bolt + Slow combo. Someone hits you with slow, good luck dodging ice bolt. Oh you got hit with ice bolt, that's a free slow. The infinite cycle of hitting just one spell so dumb. Pretty sure Slow for 40% is the root of the issue.

Me and my friends went in kitted to high roller for the first time with a rogue cleric and fighter and just got rolled by some naked wizard with a unique crystal sword and legendary spell book one tapping or two tapping all of us with a fireball before we could do anything. Just extremely boring to face and ruins the game🤷‍♀️

Obviously theres more skill yo wiping teams with other classes and its possible but its not as likely and free as it is with wizard. Theres not really anything you can do unless you get the jump on wizz thats just the state of the game right now and theres plenty of jays clips to prove that. Just another average wizz player though🤷‍♀️
