utterly brilliant, sometimes this great show peaks into truely unbelieveble highs, this is a beast of an episode. The car is unique, looks retro and ultimately sportcar-like, the ride which they do with us feels like we're in fact there with them, the brain-father of the car is present, likeable, and gives answers to perfect questions, which are even better than you could expect, (and he is able to complete his sentences;), the sidestories, anecdotes and insights are toptoptop in both quality and quantity, plus Jay's wearing sunglasses, just to make an already epic episode even more extraordinary. i ioved every second of this.

I don't know the Elva was originally a McLaren design. Neat. I've seen an original street example at the Carlisle Import show a couple of times. My first thought when I saw this car was, "the designers were Speed Racer fans..." If McLaren thinks cars need to be geared more towards the driving experience, maybe we'll see the return of a manual transmission. Maybe... One can hope.
@M3PH11
@M3PH11 2 жыл бұрын
The thing about manual transmissions is that they are slow. Do you like being slow? Coz i don't. I like being fast and if a dual clutch or a modern auto is faster then that's what i'm ordering. I do find that people like yourself that do want the return of the manual are usually scared by change and have no idea what they are talking about. Mostly coz they are slow.

@@M3PH11 With all due respect, possibly you never had the opportunity to drive a manual sports car over mountain roads where the constant gear change is a blissifull experience, I am from Europe and I have driven on the Alps and Dolomites apart for a few central Tuscan Appenine passes and do it with an automatic or tiptronic sistem takes away the joy of you being in comand of the car. But as I say is only my personal impression and I respect yours. Regards.

@@M3PH11 It's not about being _fast,_ it's about being _connected._ You will NEVER have the same visceral driving experience with a car that doesn't have a manual trans. As others have said, you get going on a twisty, technical mountain road where you are making upshifts and downshifts and feeling every release of the clutch give you another growl from the engine, and it makes even the fastest tap shift or auto feel boring. I've been fortunate enough to drive a lot of very high end cars, and I would absolutely own something like a 720S or a 488 Pista, but a lower HP manual trans car is just plain and simple more _fun._

Senna is a terrible car.. F1 is too expensive these days."

Easy to tell that the Great J-L wants THIS car!!! Jay: You can't go another day without one!!! Also, imaging the value of this, once every supercar becomes electrified. Won't matter how fast they are, they could never have the soul of this magnificent machine. This being said, Jay will also need the upcoming Tesla Roadster as well. With Jay, one can "live" their dream, as sharing the joy with him is close enough, to actually owning any of his fleet. How boring could life be, without Jay's you-tube channel? (Rhetorical of course) Of course, Jay is a gentleman of the highest level, which makes the experience all the more special. God Bless you Jay!!!

Gorgeous car, with really interesting tech. I'm with CG Tacticonus, I'll probably never see in in person let alone be able to afford one, but I do enjoy learning about it. I don't really understand why some designers want to get rid of windscreens, though. I think this car would look just as good with a low, wrap-around windscreen (think Speed Racer's Mach 5)---- which would be very expensive to manufacture with no optical distortion, and still be very exotic as well as practical. And as long as I'm day-dreaming, why not eliminate the instrument pod and put in a fighter-inspired HUD (those things obviously have to be legible in bright sunlight!) to give as unobscured view ahead as possible?
