I don't know if I want to blame Schneider so much as I think he's hampered by decisions forced upon him from above and adjacently by Analytics crew. IMO, Charlie Montoyo and JS were both brought in by Shapiro/Atkins to do their bidding. With different FO vision JS might be much better. But JS is likely the fall-guy cuz Shapiro is too rigid to fire buddy Atkins. What a damn mess!

Sorry in advance for my lengthy rant. We purchased tickets before the start of the season and are travelling from Ottawa for next weekend’s series against Cleveland. We usually attend 4-6 games every year by travelling to the Rogers Centre and other MLB stadiums. Even though we have been loyal fans for years, I have had enough of watching these professional athletes play so poorly every game and watch Schneider and Atkins do absolutely nothing to improve this team. How Rogers would allow this nonsense to continue is mind boggling. With this payroll, there is no reason to be in the position we are in. It’s time to blow up this team and build the future roster like Baltimore did years ago. I would rather see the young AAA players give me some acceptable level of performance than watching these non-performing high-priced “pros”! I would request for a refund for the upcoming games if I could because I could think of many better ways to spend my hard-earned money. Thankfully the trip will not be a complete bust as we are going to see Styx, Foreigner and John Waite on Friday night. I am sure we will leave the Budweiser Stage feeling that we received value for at least one evening.

Yep, a buddy and I were planning a cross country trip to attend a series in Toronto this summer. Well, that idea has been scrapped due to the dismal performance of this team. Frankly, they’re not worth the expense just to watch them get swept by another sub .500 team or obliterated by a better one. So, Mariners, here we come.

I tried to tell you people. I predicted approximately 77 wins this year. They will pay the price for not signing Cody Bellinger and Matt Chapman when they had the chance. Plain and simple.

Atkins knows he cant fire Schneider because 1 he was his pock for gm and 2 once Schneider is gone atkins is still left with a mess. My thoughts are Schneider is going a descent job,not great has made some mistakes but look what he has to deal with. This team has not hit consistently nice last june. Time to change atkins,and behind the seens workers,batting coach analysts manager and let ballplayers coach this team

I have had it with this team! I am so disappointed that we didn't do much to improve this team in the off-season and it shows. I'm hoping that things will turn around quickly!

There's a reason Vlady is playing 3rd and it isn't to give a DH thats hitting 210 more playing time . Look for Bo to be traded, he doesn't look happy . Big shoes to fill , maybe IKF .

Its simple fire Atkins and hire an experienced GM with true MLB connections. He can the asses this team through fresh eyes and make the decisions. Allowing Atkins and Shapiro to make the future decisions will be another few seasons of futillity. Shapiro hired a rookieGM in Atkins who hired a 2 rookie managers. Either Schapiro wants to be making the shots or no one who knows him wants to work for him or a combo of both. This front office cannot be the ones making decisions any longer.

I only watch the highlights when I want to make snide comments about the Jays, I've watched this team since before Joe Carter days and when I saw Berrios get pulled last year in the playoffs I said "OK, that's enough."

Getting rid of Shatkins and Schneider is only part of the solution. The other part of the problem is ownership. The team is owned by a corporation. Rogers is a corporation. And as a corporation all they see is profit margins. They lack the hunger and drive for a championship. As long as the Jays and ticket sales and concessions (food or Jays merchandise) continue to turn a profit they are content. Unlike the previous ownership who were a group of billionaires who were hungry for a championship and made an effort to build a competitive and winning team.
