With the combination of that and his crazy fast upload schedule he is one of the most entertaining youtubers out there. He should have 10x the amount of subscribers he has now. Don't feel like your work doesn't go un-noticed Jay, its phenomenal!

‘Nervous bait’ is def for real! My friends think I’m nuts also. I use slip bobber for my ‘dead stick’ and you can see the rhythm change and get all bouncy or just go dead calm when there is gonna be a bite. It cues me in all the time. Thank goodness some one else acknowledges that fact!!!

Using a panfish size jig for walleye is crazy !!! Big eyes have big teeth. I have found that the only way to get a hook set is the outside lip. If that jig goes inside the mouth, by the teeth, that hook is not big enough to make it penetrate in-between the teeth. I have caught many big eyes by the hook laying sideways on a tooth. Just dumb luck to land the fish. Wider gapped hooks will get a set, between the teeth. Way better odds of landing the fish. Lake of the woods..... Love it !!!!!!!

I completely understand what you mean about the minnows getting nervous. When I first started ice fishing a few years ago, I'd think I have a fish and it was just a larger minnow moving around. Once I learned to leave it down, when the fish got nervous, I'd get a lot more fish above the ice!

Garmin Striker 4 is a great bang for your buck unit with basic gps abilities, especially if you plan to do kayak or canoe fishing in open water. If you get the "plus" version, you can map the lakes you fish as well. It isn't full of features, but at that price point it is probably tough to beat.

An idea for a video that would be geared toward beginners would be one just talking about setting up a rod for the first time. Different options of jigs for different species, line options (mono, braid or flouro leaders with or with out barrel swivels). Easiest way for tying line to the reel, how much to put on and how often to replace. I don’t come across videos like this often and they are good refreshers for the basics and great intros for new anglers

Tungsten jigs is almost exclusively what i use icefishing walleye. Jigging spoons and raps are made to catch more fishermen then fish. smaller is always better because it presents a more natural visual que with bait for fish.
