Boston Celtics superstar Jayson Tatum responds to criticism from The Boston Globe that he flopped on the NBA’s biggest stage, after the Celtics lost to the Warriors in the NBA Finals earlier this year. Tatum - who averaged 22 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists in the Finals - remembers the toughest part of losing in the championship series and shares that he learned valuable lessons along the way, including the things he needs to do differently in November to better prepare himself for a championship run in June. Plus, we hear from Tatum’s mom Brandy Cole, who reminds us that her son was getting triple-teamed at times and was playing through pain throughout the Celtics’ playoff run.

I already loved Jayson Tatum but after this interview I love him even more. Class act, family man, competitor, I hope he's a Celtic for life. You can see why he is the way he is being raised by such a supportive mother and grandmother.

I've followed JT closely ever since he was drafted by the Celtics. And i've rarely seen/heard him look so relaxed in an interview. Could be the off season/location, but just never seen it!

Might be due to the fact Graham Bensinger was born, raised and started his career in St Louis as well as the High School Tatum went Chaminade to is less then 3 minutes away from the High School Graham Bensinger went to MICDS (Mary Institute and St Louis Country day School) would be shocked if Tatum hadn't already had familiarity with listening to Graham on ESPN Radio in St Louis growing up as well giving him comfort talking to someone who came from where he came that's if they hadn't have already meet a number of times prior due to the fact Graham began his career as sports journalist and Tatum being an major athlete from a school that was less then 3 minutes away from where Graham started his career in school lol

The last thing that he has to learn is when he is doubled or tripled, there are people wide open. Him and Brown need to cut down on all the dribbling and move the ball. He is looking even better this year, continuing his growth.

come on those who criticizes you are people you know even those pro celtics commentaor did, what makes great players is NOT MINDING criticism but MOTIVATING YOURSELF THROUGH CRITICISM. you mind it but come out from it a better person, a strong player, and more thirsty contender!!!!! that's what makes MJ GREAT because HE FEEDS ON CRITICISM and CHALLENGES!!!

The amount of angst leveraged against Tatum in the finals was completely unfair. Their team was no where near as deep as GSW. GSW could go 12 deep if they wanted. Celtics making it that far without a real starting point guard was beyond me. White after game 1 was -87 +/- for the reason of the series, that is horrible. Prichard wouldn't even get on the court for GSW, but he was playing crucial minutes for the Celtics and was on the court when the conceded 20 something in a row, for an instant -20 +/-

hopefully this feeling will motivate him. 100 turnovers by your best player in the most important time of the year is simply inexcusable. he knows he's better than that and i KNOW for a fact that he's going to come back to the finals and MURDER whoever is on the opposition. JT is one of the hardest working kids in the league and one of the fastest growing stars in the nba. i have so much confidence that he's learned from his mistakes and JB & him will come back with a VENGEANCE
