I developed a hernia so i had to stop sax until i got surgery. Well that was gonna be a year away, so i tried clarinet, it causes me zero pain, i loved it more than sax in the end. And its DAMN easy to fly with lol....oh and i got one of those barrels with the guitar amp connection, thats VERY fun to use all those effects pedals with a clarinet.

Wonderful. You're encouraging me to learn the clarinet at the age of 58. I have my first lesson tomorrow and I'm looking forward to it. But what the hell is that cute little dog, who does it belong to? I have 2 Labradors, at the moment they still run away when I play the first notes ;)

If youre just starting i would definitely learn a lot more before you try jazz, its all just standards that people make their own. Id start with easier stuff like a essentials book first
