Jin's voice is so expressive and gorgeous for epic ballads. I really love how he's been showcasing some of his lower range too. I've always felt that he sounds the most 'classical' as a singer, in bts like he would do really well in a musical or in more operatic music. i just absolutely adore how all of the bts members play to their strengths in the group, you hear jin's influence in so many of their songs with the depth of emotion and theatricality he brings.

Jin proved you don't have to write the song to make it your own. He is always good at conveying a song emotionally. I listened to a few kpop singers either cover a song or do ballad but I don't get similar emotion as I do from Jin.

Jin's Epiphany is one of the best BTS ballads and the anchor of their Love Yourself era.... if you have not enjoyed Jin's "AWAKE" yet, don't miss the LIVE version. Brings tears to my eyes everytime. Other solo works to catch are Jin's "MOON" & "ABYSS ". Jin was one of the songwriters on Awake, Moon, & Abyss. Although he didn't help write "YOURS" I can't imagine anyone else doing it. Watch the mv with the song overlaid on clips from the show. It really is beautiful. V wrote & sang the "SWEET NIGHT " OST for Itaewon Class tv series and the mv of the movie clips with the song overlaid on it is also perfect. Although they didn't write this ost, Jin & V sang "“Even if I die, it’s you”" for the tv series HWARANG, which V starred in. There is a really, really live concert of them singing “Even if I die, it’s you”. ; as well as a so entertaining mv of the song overlaid onto clips from HWARANG. That was the 1st Kdrama I watched. My daughter lured me in to watching it because of my love for V.... I followed that with the kdrama "Goblin" (aka Guardian: the Lonely and Great God) and now several years in US tv takes a backseat to the kdrama world. Btw, that same daughter is the one who introduced me to K-pop, specifically BTS.... HWARANG also stars 2 other K-pop stars: Choi Min-ho from Shinee and Park Hyung-sik from ZE:A (he does primarily acting now). Also Park Seo-joon stars in it too (he starred in itaewon class and is filming "The Marvels" movie. Park Seo-joon & Park Hyung-sik each did ost's for Hwarang w/ accompanying mv'. Those 2 are also part of the "Wooga Squad" friends group along with V and a couple other best friends.

Jin is a balladeer and troubadour. I love this song. His voice and the way he expresses the lyrics reminds me of the storytelling ability of Paul Stookey, John Denver, James Taylor, Kenny Rogers and Lionel Ritchie. I think he was born in the wrong decade because his voice would be superb singing Southern Californian soft rock from the 60's and early 70's or Indie rock. Bands like The Eagles and Fleetwood Mac or duet with the likes of Linda Ronstadt, Art Garfunkel, Paul Simon, Neil Diamond and Paul McCartney. Two of whom can no longer sing anymore. I would LOVE to hear him collaborate with Yebba or Barbara Streisand and give him a chance to really belt. Or maybe something left of centre and duet with Aurora. Ugh... that would be heaven.

I strongly recommend listening to some of BTS' Japanese songs like Your Eyes Tell. Their Japanese songs are of a different style and Jin truly shines there!

I think you hit the nail on the head about the song feeling like he's waiting for someone. As a viewer of the show, that is the feeling I get as well. The la-ta-ta-ta parts feel like a "place holder" in the heart or mind of character the song might be singing about. I feel like it's representing that painfully slow passage of time when you're impatiently waiting for something or someone and you're too sad to speak your feelings out loud.

I love this drama and because I have been following it I think I have a greater understanding of the meaning of the lyrics which I believe are the thoughts of the main male lead of his longing and loneliness and love for the female lead while he is locked in his coma. I may be wrong but that what I feel when I hear the song which is why it brings me to tears. Jin evokes those feelings because he conveys those emotions with the way he sings the song with the versatility of his voice. Very few singers I think could do that. Could they sing the song well, yes probably, but conveying the emotions of the song is a whole different level and is where Jin excels. Such a beautiful song. Thank you for your review.💜

I was wondering when will you drop this. Jin has a voice meant for ballads. As you listen to their old songs you will realize how much his singing has improved. Listen to his Abyss and Tonight whenever you get time. South Korea loves its ballads and girl groups and the general public is not much into boy groups but BTS has made its way into people's heart.
