Brad Mehldau's enthusiasm for the Beatles music is the ultimate validation of their songwriting brilliance.

Just when you thought you couldn’t hear the Beatles with new ears, this comes along. Incredible, virtuosic, creative, there aren’t enough superlatives.

Thanks for sharing this wonderful interview. Mehldau has to be one of my all time favourite jazz musicians. A genius with such a strong personal approach to improvisation, timing, harmony, melody. But what inspires me as much as his music is him as a human being. He’s not afraid of sharing his faults, dark times, imperfections, doubts and comes along as a man with a golden heart, honest and extremely humble. I hope one day Ill have the honour of meeting him but just like we discover through him in the interview, I also get nervous and speechless when I long to talk to someone I admire who also happens to be popular. I bought his book and I’m sure just like his music it will be of great inspiration!

Can't stop listening to this album since it came out. Listening first thing in the morning. Listening during my daily walks. or Listening at the evening while reading. It became my constant companion now.

Exceptional interview conducted by Sam Briger. Questions were probing but asked in such a manner that elicited honest responses from Brad who seemed very relaxed and open. Big fan of his music which, creatively, is at the highest level.

I've never heard of Brad. Sounds a bit like Keith Jarrett. I'm impressed with his background with Bach. Never hurts to learn from the king of harmony.😊

Several jazz pianists have recorded Paul McCartney's "Blackbird" recently and playing it on piano brings out its strangeness and brilliance. Hiromi's is excellent, Jon Baptiste's is idiosyncratic, but Brad Mehldau's version on _10 Years Solo Live_ is beyond words. I'd love to hear what Sir Paul thinks of jazz versions of his songs. (And for bonus, Sarah Vaughan's crazy wood saw meets Boz Scaggs disco lite version of "Blackbird" from 1981 🤪) Sam Briger's interview is sensitive and informative. I wish I could have gone even longer to ask Brad Meldau about recent strange albums _Jacob's Ladder_, _Mehliana_, and _Finding Gabriel_ with their vocals, electronica, and religious overtones. He's a very different composer than jazz piano player.

I saw Brad play at a wee church in Glasgow, Hillhead (Bonny Scotchland) sometime in 2010. He was just getting noticed, and I must say I was very impressed. He's certainly come to the fore in the intervening years.

Melhdau is a fantastic pianist and very well accomplished, but the idea that he’s the most accomplished Jazz pianist working now is absurd. Herbie Hancock and Ahmad Jamal are both still working.
