The fifth edition of my '1 melody, 12 keys' series, this one focuses on a simple pentatonic scale that has a passing tone to give it a bluesy feel. The pattern plays very naturally on the vibraphone, and is demonstrated here in all 12 keys.

how combine a minor blues scale and major blues scale in one key???confused...

This would be used on a mixolydian scale- the flatted 3rd is just a chromatic approach tone to the third.. it’s not part of the scale.

Isn’t the the F bluesy pentatonic just D blues. Either way I love the lick good job.

Yep - you could say it's a 'mode' of the D blues scale.

Can't it also be called the F major blues scale as opposed the the D minor blues scale?
