Great video and another pdf I will definitely purchase ! I have noticed you alternate pick a lot, with not so many slurs, and you seems to sweep only on downstrokes, which makes me wonder how you play descending arpeggios. I think some technical tips could be useful in future videos, especially for this kind of double time lines that are obviously very tricky to play. Chad and Jayden have made nice videos about jazz articulation, and I would be very interested by a similar video/pdf from a guitarist perspective. It could be the opportunity to discuss the more technical aspects of playing jazz guitar !

Thanks so much for sharing these, Mr. Alexander. I've been a pretty strict alternate picker my whole life, and I can never muster the speed to play the lines at the tempo or with the machine gun attack that you and George Benson and Dan Wilson seem to generate so easily. Have you been able to help students change their picking mechanics? Hand position of course, but even harder to change for me is starting lines with upstrokes on strong beats, and the downward glides into upstrokes etc. Help!

I don’t have a strong background in jazz. Been more of a blues guy, just came across this video and checked out the page. Would you recommend your text lessons to a guitar player who has no jazz knowledge further than playing a 2-5-1 ?
