That's a lovely observation. As someone with experience of playing this piece (piano), this is the magic of this piece :) it takes you away, even if your week wasn't good, and the weather sucks... as long as you're playing this... feels as if it is all good :)

This reminds me of the warm coloured afternoons when my father used to play music with his group, he'd put me in his double bass cover so i wouldn't touch the wet grass, but I'd end up playing with it making tresses and bracelets to attach it wherever i could. I'd eventually fall asleep and wake up a few hours after, next to a small pond so that i could sleep in peace, not too close to the amps. The old Guy (that's his name) would pat me on the head and try to teach me how to use the drums, I'd see the members of the group fighting for me to choose their instruments. I'm here now, playing double bass, just like my father, and put my little sister in the cover of my instrument so that she doesn't fall asleep on the dirty floor in bars, she'd hold tightly a chocolate bar, melted by then, that the waitress gave her to make her wait for me, and asleep, a small smile on her face, she would patiently wait for me.

@@phattraccoon9651 depends. If I’m phoning it in, I might be in a bit of a trance, I might be thinking more about what the space looks like, might be thinking about dinner, could be anything. If I’m putting my absolute best into it, I’m in the moment - thinking hard about whatever we planned, living the emotional journey of the song, thinking really carefully about any microtuning I can do to help elevate the piece, paying very close attention to the timing and gesturing of whoever I’m playing with. Basically listening and speaking on as many ports as possible, internal and external

they sound effortlessly fluid together without stepping into each other's, especially the solo parts, which brought me the same feeling of Bill Evan's trio's version though the style is different: mellow, elegant yet very much playful. I guess this is how you call, "music is a universal language", as the great Bill Evan put it.

My wife and I met as 15 years old on a gig with my dad at a bar.She came to us.She asked for autumn leaves.I said okay.I was about to tune but she asked for more. She asked that could she sing it.I looked on my dad and he said okay. She gave us 45€ and we gave her a mic. That was the moment when I fell in love with her.She had (and still has) the best voice I ever heard. We started talking and here we are.
